What is a smart city? The smart cities we usually refer to are: 1. Highly informational modern cities; 2. Rely on mature, systematic and perfect information and communication technologies. 3, the essence of a smart city is to make the management and operation of the city more conscious and more elaborate, thus creating a better life for the people in the city and promoting the harmony and sustainable growth of the city.

The smart city technology system is divided into four levels: application layer, platform layer, network layer, and perception layer. The application layer includes emergency intelligence, digital city management, safe city, smart transportation, convenience service, environmental monitoring and energy-saving control; the platform layer refers to the IOT platform and data platform, through the platform to achieve intelligence; the network layer refers to the communication network, the Internet and The Internet of Things; perception layer includes the mobile phone, PC, Internet, cloud computing, wireless AP, camera, environment host, a key alarm.

With the development of smart cities and the increasing popularity of the Internet of Things, smart LED street lights, as an important and indispensable entry point for smart cities, are increasing appearing in cities.

So, how does the value of the LED street light system in a smart city be reflected in the end? You can start from four aspects.

First of all, LED street lights and their systems have natural information perception and feedback platforms in smart cities. Urban LED street lights have a complete and independent power supply system. Because of its non-equilibrium use characteristics, the margin is sufficient, so it is possible to meet the power demand of communication and information facilities without laying cables.

Second, the network-like distribution is one of the biggest features of the LED streetlight layout. With the increase of road network density, the characteristics of network distribution will be more obvious and reasonable, and the dead angle will gradually disappear. The dead-end network distribution of communication and information facilities is the basic condition for full information coverage of smart cities. Among all the municipal facilities, only the LED street light system can achieve no dead-end network distribution. Therefore, it is a natural loading platform for smart city devices.

Again, the height of the LED street light unit and the capacity of the cavity are sufficient enough to carry a sufficient number of communication and information devices with increasingly smaller and smaller size under the requirements of the integrated design. The LED street lamp structure has three basic components: rod, seat, and arm. In a customized LED street lamp, there is usually a unique structure of the main body. The large capacity of the lamp holder and the main body is not to be forgotten, that is, the lamp pole and the lamp arm can also be loaded with communication and information equipment through rational design without affecting the beauty of its appearance.

In short, LED street lamps are a public product provided by the government and have good sharing conditions. Although its primary function is to ensure road traffic safety and security precautions, due to the characteristics of the LED street lamps, which are wide-ranging, global coverage, system independence, self-contained system, and independent electric drive, and the maintenance team is professional, fault handling is timely, therefore, LED street lamps are not a single municipal facility that provides lighting functions today, but are carriers of several functional systems in urban space. Therefore, the lack of LED street lights in the smart city system is not a complete smart city.
