Three common failures of LED lights and corresponding solutions

LED lamps gradually occupy the current electric lamp market due to their characteristics of high brightness, low energy consumption and long life. Generally speaking, LED lights are difficult to cause problems. Among the problems of LED lights, there are only three problems: the lights are not on, the lights are dark, and the lights are flickering after turning off. Today we will analyze and solve various problems one by one.

Three common failures of LED lights and corresponding solutions

Structure of LED lamp

LED lights come in two forms, one is a ceiling light and the other is a light bulb. No matter what type of lamp, the internal structure is the same, divided into lamp beads and drivers.

Lamp beads

Open the ceiling lamp housing or the white plastic part of the bulb, and you can see a yellow rectangular circuit board inside. The yellow on this circuit board is the lamp bead. The lamp bead is the luminous body of the LED lamp, and its quantity determines the brightness of the LED lamp.

    driver

The driver of the LED bulb is installed on the bottom, and it is not visible on the outside. The driver of the ceiling lamp is a black box. When installing the lamp, you need to install the driver first.

The driver has the functions of constant current, step-down, rectification and filtering.

Solution of LED light off

When the light is off, first make sure the circuit is ok. If it is a newly installed electric lamp, you should use an electric pen for measurement, or install an incandescent lamp to see if there is voltage in the circuit. After confirming that there is no problem with the circuit, you can start the following maintenance.

Drive problems

The electric light is not on, and the driver is the problem. Light emitting diodes have high requirements on current and voltage. If the current or voltage is too large or too small, they cannot be normally lit. Therefore, constant current drivers, rectifiers, and voltage reducers in the driver are required to maintain use.

If the lamp bead does not light up after turning on the light, the driver should be considered first. At this time, a new drive can be purchased for replacement.

Solutions to dimming the brightness of LED lights

This problem should be solved by contacting the previous one. This may be the case when the brightness of the electric lamp is dimmed or not bright.

Problem with lamp beads

LED lamp beads are divided into strings, and the beads on each string are connected in series, and the strings are connected in parallel.

Therefore, a lamp bead burned on this string will cause this string of lamp beads not to light up. If there is one lamp bead burned out in each string, it will cause the entire electric lamp to go out. If there is a lamp bead burned out for each string, the capacitor or resistance on the driver must be considered.

The burnt lamp beads and normal lamp beads can be seen from the appearance. The burnt lamp beads have a black dot in the middle position, and this dot cannot be erased.

If the number of burned lamp beads is not large, the two soldering feet behind the burned lamp beads can be soldered together with an electric iron. If there are too many burned lamp beads, it is recommended to buy a lamp bead board to replace it, so as not to affect the brightness of the lighting.

LED light flashing after turning off the solution

Flashing after turning off the light, first check the line problem. The most likely problem is the neutral line of the switch control. At this time, it is necessary to make corrections in time to avoid danger. The correct method is to switch on and off the live wire and connect the neutral wire to the electric lamp.

If there is no problem with the circuit, it is possible that the LED lamp has generated a self-induced current. The easiest way is to buy a 220V relay and connect the coil with the lamp in series to solve it.
