Wuqi County, Yan'an, Shaanxi Province lights up street lights
In recent days, near Jinhai Lake in the old city of Wuqi County, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province, staff from the Wuqi County Urban Management Bureau are taking a lift to replace lighting. "The government has finally solved the street light problem that we have been waiting for for several years. The lights are on, more people are walking, and we are more at ease when we go out at night." Recently, Mr. Liu, an owner living near Jinhai Lake in the old city of Wuqi, happily shared his joy.
The Old City Community is located in the center of the county, and a large number of elderly residents live in Changzheng Street and Hebin Road in the jurisdiction. With the increase in the number of years of use, the street lights in the old street are gradually aging and the lighting brightness is weakened. Whenever night falls, residents passing by the old street occasionally complain: "It's dark! Although there are street lights, it's still dim overall, and it's a bit scary to walk at night." "We old people have poor eyesight, we can't see clearly at night, and it's inconvenient to go out at night." During the visit to residents, the relevant departments of the county government learned that the existing lighting system in the old city street is still operating normally, but it cannot meet the special needs of residents in the old city, especially the elderly.
Since the province launched the "Three Years" campaign, Wuqi County Urban Management Bureau has adhered to the "Party Building +" model, focused on people's livelihood and welfare, and carried out the lighting action of the main streets and back streets and alleys in the old city. It has taken the initiative to connect with various communities and unite various party branches. Through the deep integration of party building work and community, it has conducted on-site surveys and scientific planning for the old city and back streets and alleys, formulated the "Illumination Facility Improvement Plan for the Main Streets and Back Streets and Alleys in the Old City", and repaired and added street lights. The density has greatly increased the brightness of the lighting and also increased the safety factor of the people walking at night.
After the new street lights were "lit up", the people were very happy. "Now we are no longer afraid of not being able to see the road clearly when we go out at night, which makes us feel more at ease. The government has indeed done many practical things for the people." Aunt Zhang, who is over 70 years old, said happily.
Since the beginning of this year, the Wuqi County Urban Management Bureau has always adhered to the people-centered development philosophy, and has carried out solid lighting operations on the main streets and back streets and alleys in the urban area, focusing on the urgent expectations of the people and keeping a close eye on the practical issues of people's livelihood. It has restored two sections of road where street lights were not working, installed 29 new street lights, and repaired or replaced more than 158 lamp heads in total.
