All procurement, installation and maintenance of lighting equipment will be undertaken by EESL and AAI will not bear any cost burden. The project will be completed within four months from the date of signing the final energy efficiency agreement (EPA). On Monday, AAI stated in a statement: "AAI has completed the replacement of the first stage LED lamps at a cost of 1.6 billion rupees (approximately 156 million RMB) ... and will save about Rs 1.4 billion (approximately 1.37 million). AAI Chairman Guruprasad Mohapatra stated: “About 20% of the total electricity consumption at the airport is for lighting loads. Previously, EESL was responsible for a number of lighting projects in India's Railway Bureau, Metro Corporation and Central Public Works Department.
