Indian Railways achieve 100% LED lighting

On March 30, Indian Railways announced on the official Twitter that 100% of the LED lighting supply has been achieved at all stations of the Indian Railway. This will save 5 billion rupees (about 480 million RMB) annually.

This was completed one day earlier than the target deadline of March 31st. India’s South Central Railway is the first railway company in India to complete 100% LED lighting supply.

Indian Railways is the fourth-largest rail network in the world and provides employment opportunities for millions of people. From April of last year to March of this year, Indian Railways transported 8.26 billion passengers and 1.16 billion tons of goods.
