Can effectively control the epidemic in May, and the demand for LED components has the opportunity to return to the right track; once the epidemic is delayed to the second half of the year, the market estimate may need to be revised down again, because of unemployment pressure and consumption tightening, the recovery period may be as long as more than 10 months .

Mengjiao Huang, a researcher at the Industrial Technology International Strategic Development Institute of the Industrial Technology Research Institute, pointed out that this year's global LED component is expected to decline by more than 15%. I have never seen such a large recession in the past, and the euro zone market is the most severe. If the epidemic of New Coronary Pneumonia is locked in the mainland, it is only a problem on the supply side, but the impact has all expanded to the market, and the demand for terminal LEDs has stalled.

The main application market of LED components is in the backlight, lighting, signage, and automotive use of LCD TVs and portable products. The automotive market in 2019 has fallen sharply, impacting the revenue of major LED component manufacturers; The commercial market is regularly renovated and overhauled. Currently, most regions of the world are restricting activities. Many commercial sites cannot even operate. The lighting market cannot see the prospects.

LED backlight application market declines by 15%

According to the latest forecast of Gartner, an international research and advisory body, in April this year, affected by the new coronary pneumonia, LED backlight application markets such as NB, tablet computers, mobile phones and LCD TV shipments have experienced a decline of about 5% to 15%. The decline of NB is over 10%, and the decline of LCD TV is 15%. Mengjiao Huang pointed out that LCD TV was originally a saturated market, with shipments of 226 million units in 2019, and this year's estimated decline of 15%, the impact of the LED backlight application market is inevitable.
