Streetlights Illuminate the Village of Zhulin Village, Penglai Town, Anxi County, Quanzhou, Fujian

As night falls and the mountain silhouettes gradually fade into darkness, solar-powered streetlights illuminate the winding village roads of Zhulin Village, Penglai Town, Anxi County, Quanzhou, Fujian Province. This illumination not only lights up the villagers' small community but also vividly reflects the village's commitment to serving its people and its deep concern for their well-being.

On March 15th, over a hundred newly installed streetlights in Zhulin Village began to illuminate the village. Around 6 pm that evening, the villagers cheered with joy as the streetlights came on.

"Before, every time I went home at night, I had to be extra careful starting from Penggetou. The road was dark and winding, and I relied entirely on the light from my phone's flashlight to find my way. I was always uneasy," recalled a villager who works away from home year-round. For the elderly and children left behind in the village, the night meant even greater inconvenience and potential risks. These lights, illuminating the way home and warming the hearts of night travelers, became the deepest hope of all the people of Zhulin Village.

What the people desire, the government will act upon. The Fujian Provincial Department of Finance included the street light project in Zhulin Village in its assistance plan, covering the section of road from Penggetou to Zhulin Village.

However, turning this beautiful blueprint into reality still faces practical challenges. Preliminary calculations indicate a funding gap for the project. "I grew up in Zhulin Village, and it's my duty to do something practical for my hometown, to make it brighter and safer for my fellow villagers to walk at night," said Mr. Li Lianjiang, a kind-hearted villager from Zhulin Village. Upon learning of the situation, he generously donated tens of thousands of yuan to fill the final funding gap. The organic combination of government special funds and donations from local benefactors has created a positive situation of government guidance, social participation, and villager benefits, allowing this beneficial project to quickly move from blueprints to implementation.
