Lighting Renovation Completed at Shipai Service Area of Suzhou Expressway, Jiangsu

As night falls, newly upgraded soft yet bright LED lights illuminate the parking plaza of Shipai Service Area operated by Suzhou Expressway Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Province. The entire parking lot becomes brighter and more visually appealing. Vehicles park in order, and drivers and passengers move about comfortably. The unobstructed sightlines bring greater safety and ease to the night. This seemingly ordinary lighting upgrade is a vivid example of Suzhou Expressway’s commitment to delivering practical services for the public, with warm safety lights brightening the journey of all travelers.

Recently, based on feedback from motorists and night patrol reports by on-site staff, the company found that parking spaces far from high-mast lamps suffered from dim lighting, creating safety risks for large passenger and freight vehicles during parking, reversing, and pedestrian movement. To eliminate hidden dangers and improve travel experience, Suzhou Expressway responded promptly and carried out refined construction. With full coordination among all departments, the plaza lighting renovation was finished within just one week, efficiently resolving the public issue of inconvenient nighttime parking at the service area.

Prior to construction, the Engineering Management Department dispatched core technicians to conduct thorough on-site surveys, accurately locating lighting blind zones and drawing up targeted construction and lighting optimization plans to guarantee precise and efficient renovation. During construction, the engineering team replaced all 27 outdated low-efficiency lamps mounted on the 4 high-mast lamps with brand-new LED fixtures. While maintaining the same power rating, the overall illuminance of the plaza doubled, with greatly improved light penetration and coverage. Additionally, 16 sets of 100W auxiliary LED lights were installed at the east and west entrances to address dark spots at the main building gate, achieving full blind-spot-free lighting coverage across the entire service area.
