As a key livelihood project ensuring the safety of villagers' nighttime travel, the 103 newly installed solar streetlights in Guanshan Village are now fully operational, covering the main roads, intersections, and cultural activity areas of all seven villager groups. This has completely ended the history of many main roads in the village being unlit at night, forcing villagers to "walk in the dark." "Nighttime lighting has always been a major concern for villagers, especially the elderly and children, who are always worried about going out at night."

Chen Qihang, the first secretary stationed in Guanshan Village, explained that after the village work team and the village committee collected this request during door-to-door visits, they immediately included street light installation in the list of livelihood projects. They actively liaised with higher-level departments to secure project funding and ultimately selected energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and easy-to-maintain solar street lights. These lights automatically store energy during the day and illuminate intelligently at night, reducing the village's electricity burden and fundamentally eliminating safety hazards for nighttime travel.

Pang Zhenmei, the secretary of the Guanshan Village Party Branch, said that from the formulation of the plan and bidding to construction and acceptance, every step of the process involved clear and traceable details of fund usage, subject to full public supervision, truly achieving "everyone has the final say on matters concerning everyone." Villagers' full participation in supervision not only completely eliminated their concerns about the use of collective funds but also ensured that every penny of the funds benefiting the people was accurately spent where it was most needed. It is precisely this open and transparent working style that ensured zero conflicts and objections throughout the project's progress, and continuously strengthened the credibility of the village's "two committees" (village party branch and village committee) through each practical measure benefiting the people.

"Before, we had to lock the doors as soon as it got dark, and we needed flashlights to go out. On rainy days, it was a nightmare of wading through deep water. Now it's so much better. The streetlights stretch from the village entrance all the way to our doorsteps, making it incredibly convenient to pick up the kids from school in the evening or go to the village supermarket," said villager Xie Yuan, his face beaming as he looked at the bright streetlights in front of his house. Many villagers said that since the streetlights were installed, they've been going out more often at night, and there's been more frequent interaction between neighbors.
