Osram in June 2015 approved the divestiture of its LED lighting division. OSRAM has now decided to release the LED lighting business re-established a company named “Ledvance”, “We have chosen the term” LED “and” advance “as the company’s newly established name.” President of the Long Board Osram (CEO) Olaf Berlien said, “the name reflects the trend to bring LED lighting market and this development opportunity –Ledvance will actively take advantage of these opportunities.”

The new service will also provide solutions for intelligent buildings, smart lighting and home connections. Ledvance would be directed by JesMunk Hansn (47 years old). JesMunkHansen previously served as president of the Americas region OSRAM post and served as Osram lighting business leader in 2015. It is reported that, JesMunk Hansen since 2013 entering Osram, Osram has been leading the business to complete the transformation and upgrading of the Americas.

Osram noted, Ledvance today in a good position.
