Morocco proposes threshold requirements for imported lighting equipment

Recently, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy (MICEVN) of the Kingdom of Morocco re-examined the threshold requirements for lighting equipment. Whether lighting products are controlled in the country of origin and whether it is necessary to apply for a CoC (Certificate of Conformity) at the country of origin depends on the minimum threshold corresponding to the applicable standard for the lighting product.

Morocco proposes threshold requirements for imported lighting equipment

If a lighting product is within the scope of application of both the Ministerial Order and the NM standard, but the thresholds of the Ministerial Order and the NM standard corresponding to the product are different, in this case we need to refer to the threshold of the standard corresponding to the product to determine whether the product is in the country of origin.

If the quantity or value of the product is lower than the minimum threshold corresponding to the standard, the lighting product is not controlled in the country of origin, even if the threshold of the product exceeds the threshold corresponding to the Ministerial Order.

SGS once again reminds customers who are engaged in the trade of related products to learn the details in advance and be prepared.

As an officially authorized institution in Morocco, SGS implements the Product Conformity Assessment Program (PCA) (Conformity Assessment of Industrial Products Program), verifies whether all controlled products imported into the country comply with relevant national standards and technical regulations of Morocco, and issues a product conformity certificate CoC. For goods to be cleared locally in Morocco.
