As night falls, the night view of Qingsong Community has quietly undergone some warm changes – on the densely populated small roads in Qingsong Community, ICBC Family Building, and Bayi Building, newly installed street lights are lit one by one, paving a bright and safe passage for passing residents and vehicles. These street lights not only illuminate the “last small step” for residents to go home, but also improve the “big step” of residents’ satisfaction.
At the end of 2023, Qingsong Community collected community renovation residents’ needs from community residents, party members, and volunteers through questionnaires, home visits, telephone contacts, and WeChat communications. After sorting out the collected needs questionnaires, 63% of the residents believed that the lights in the community were dim at night and it was inconvenient to travel at night.
The Party Working Committee of Tiexi Street played a leading role in party building, conducted field visits and held residents’ meetings many times, and finally included it in the 2024 project of doing practical things for the people. After repeated deliberations with the property and construction units, the construction plan was finally determined. Subsequently, a “street light installation campaign” was launched in Qingsong Community.
In September 2024, the Qingsong Community street light renovation project was fully completed. When 11 street lights were “lit” in the community for the first time, it attracted many residents’ praises. Everyone said: Our community is really bright! The installation of street lights not only illuminates the “safe road” of residents, but also “lights up” the “happy road” of the people.
The people have something to say, and I have something to respond. In the next step, Tiexi Street will continue to uphold the people-centered development thinking, make good use of the “five ones” mass work method, be guided by the needs of the masses, take the people’s livelihood issues to heart, grasp them in hand, and do them in practice, insist on doing practical and good things for the masses with heart, emotion and strength, and light up the “satisfaction lamp” in the hearts of the masses with practical actions.
