Outdoor led spotlights: make the Expo Venue more splendid

The night is coming.

Walking through the avenue between the Expo Venue, it looks like I have entered a wonder land. Most of the lighting in the park is from LED components, the full name of which is “light-emitting diodes”. It is a kind of solid-state semiconductor which can transform electricity into visible light. It is hundreds of millions of LEDs that light up the Shanghai Expo Venue. Among them, outdoor led spotlights play a significant role.

Coca-Cola Museum is next to the “Oil Cube”. Visitors prefer to call it “Coke bottle”. A 15 meters high giant Coke bottle embedded in the center of the venue, the director of this building indicated that it is the biggest building displayed by outdoor led spotlights in the world. The total weight of the entire bottle is over 10 tons, the internal frame constructions of which are all made by steel. More than 3000 German-made LED light bars were installed in everywhere in this building. Hundreds of outdoor led spotlights are embedded in the surface the “Coke bottle”. During the night, flags from countries around the world and sign of the Expo will be flashing magnificently on it.

The “magic cube” set up by Shanghai Corporate Pavilion just beside the “Coke bottle”, this “unattractive” building (at the daytime) seems has nothing to boast about. However, more than 20,000 LED light bars are embedded on its surface, with a total length of 110,000 meters. All these light bars are controlled by 129 independent controllers. Designers considered to use led high bay as the landscape lighting of this building, but gave up this idea finally.
