The second phase of the green energy-saving and intelligent innovation and transformation project in Baotou, Inner Mongolia has been officially completed

Good news! The second phase of the 2024 Baotou City Street Light Green Energy-saving and Intelligent Innovation and Transformation Project, which was implemented by the Municipal Affairs Development Center of the Baotou City Administration Bureau of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was fully completed a few days ago. The street lights under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Affairs Development Center have officially entered the “sodium-free era”.

The second phase of the green energy-saving and intelligent innovation and transformation project in Baotou, Inner Mongolia has been officially completed

The main implementation content of the second phase of the project is to transform a total of 5,280 sets of original sodium lamps on 29 roads throughout the city, including Qingshan Road, Tuanjie Street, Bayantala Street, Jian’an Street, and Century North Road, into LED modules. The project arranged a total of 30 professional and technical personnel and mobilized 5 aerial vehicles to work simultaneously. Under the premise of ensuring construction safety and quality, the construction personnel reversed the construction schedule, accelerated the transformation speed, and ensured the project was completed ahead of schedule.

After the completion of this project, all 11,125 high-pressure sodium lamps under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Development Center have been renovated, and the outstanding problems of the original sodium lamps (high power consumption, high operation and maintenance costs, high failure rate, low road illumination, low color rendering index, and low light uniformity) have been effectively improved. Compared with 2021, after the completion of this renovation of all street lamps, it is estimated that 2.43 million yuan in electricity bills will be saved each year, and carbon emissions will be reduced by about 5,026 tons each year, helping Baotou City achieve its “dual carbon” goals.
