2019 LED automotive lighting module shipments are expected to grow

According to industry sources, LED automotive lighting module manufacturer Excellence Optoelectronics has increased shipments to Tesla, and due to weak sales in China's new car market, Laster Tech's shipments to the Chinese market have declined.

According to the source, Lianjia Optoelectronics is a supplier of Tesla Model 3 LED car taillights and brake light modules. As Tesla Model 3's weekly shipments have increased from about 5,000 to 8,000, it is expected to increase to 10,000 in the second half of 2019, and the shipments of Lianjia Optoelectronics will increase. At present, shipments to Tesla account for about 5% of Lianjia Optoelectronics' total revenue, and supply chain shipments to US and Chinese automakers account for 50-60% and 10%, respectively.

It is reported that since the order shipment of Lianjia Optoelectronics has been arranged in 2021, Lianjia Optoelectronics has added four production lines in the Taiwan factory, and added another four production lines in mainland China by the end of 2018. It is currently building a plant in Michigan, USA. The new plant is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019.

Lianjia Optoelectronics' consolidated revenue in 2018 reached NT $3,88 million (US$110 million), gross profit was 19.92%, net profit was NT$171.2 million, net income was NT$148.4 million, and net profit per share was NT$0.91. In addition, Lianjia Optoelectronics also distributed a cash dividend of NT$0.55 per share in 2018.

In February 2019, the comprehensive income reached NT$335 million, a growth of 6.93% from the previous month and a 10% increase from the previous year. The consolidated income for January-February was NT$639.5 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.22%.

According to sources, Laster is mainly focused on the Chinese market. Car manufacturer Great Wall Motors and car light manufacturers Huayu Vision Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Da Mao Wei Rui Ke Car Light Co., Ltd. and Guangzhou Xiaohao Auto Lamp Co., Ltd. major client. In February 2019, Laster's consolidated revenue was NT$339.5 million, a 4.8% increase from the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 4.52%. The consolidated income for January-February was NT$663.4 million, down 18.03% year-on-year.
