"A people's city is built by the people, and a well-built city is for the people." Since the beginning of this year, the Meishan Municipal Bureau of Housing and Urban-Rural Development has focused on understanding the needs of the people and ensuring tangible benefits for them. It has formulated three systems: the "System for Soliciting Citizen Opinions on Urban Construction, Operation and Management," the "System for Reporting to Citizens on Urban Construction, Operation and Management," and the "System for Heads of Bureau Units to Implement the 'Frontline Work Method'." Adhering to the "frontline work method," the bureau uses a "competition based on practical results" to demonstrate "passionate responsibility and action."

As of April 3, through a simultaneous "online + offline" approach, public opinions were solicited, resulting in 1,642 questionnaires collected, effectively gathering the public's preferred streetlights.

In the overall questionnaire, the Suci Temple lights received 1264 votes for their unique antique design, and 103 suggestions were made. The majority of these suggestions included improving the brightness of the lights, strengthening post-construction maintenance, and adding directional signs (such as restroom directions) to the light poles. 88% of citizens hoped that the LED screens on the light poles would display content related to the Three Sus (Su Shi, Su Zhe, and Su Xun), 30.6% hoped for public service announcements, 34% hoped for city promotional content, and 4% hoped for other content (historical stories, intangible cultural heritage skills, poetry, etc.).

The upgraded smart streetlights will provide citizens and tourists with better nighttime lighting and service experiences, contributing to the improvement of the Three Sus Temple scenic area.
