At present, many water disinfection systems have introduced the world's leading UVC LED manufacturer Crystal IS and its breakthrough product series Klaran? , Although the use of this technology in products that disinfect surfaces or air is still in its infancy.

Traditional UV lamps are bulky, fragile, and contain mercury, which makes them an inconvenient and dangerous disinfection method. With the launch of the Minamata Convention, this disinfection lamp may soon be eliminated. As a subsidiary of Asahi Kasei, Crystal IS is confident that Klaran UVC LEDs, unlike UV mercury lamps, can be safely used to fight COVID-19. Since the use of UVC products to fight the virus is a relatively preliminary attempt, Crystal IS has been providing free LED samples to various universities. Through this latest UV Accelerator program, Crystal IS’s parent company Asahi Kasei will jointly provide funding and provide the most Innovative ways to combat the spread of super virus.

Asahi Kasei will provide each company with up to US$250,000 in funding at its sole discretion to support and accelerate product development. Crystal IS will also provide engineering expertise for the design and control of UVC LED light sources as needed. For organizations with UVC LED-based disinfection product ideas, applications are currently being accepted and screened, and discussions are expected to begin in July this year. UV Accelerator is an ongoing project aimed at attracting new partnerships from countries around the world to help create a safer world.
