"We have launched 12 series of UV-C ultraviolet lamps for disinfection of air and surface of objects worldwide. These products can be used in offices, schools, gyms, retail stores, warehouses, and public transportation." Signify Digital Solutions Said Harsh Chitale, global general manager of the Solutions Division.

New products of UV-C ultraviolet lamps used for deep surface disinfection in offices, schools and bathrooms are equipped with sensors and controllers to ensure that they are activated only when there are no people or animals in the space. Movable and independent UV-C lamps equipped with wheels can move between hotel rooms or disinfect public transportation such as buses and trains.

In response to the need for surface disinfection, Signify has launched a series of safe and fast UV-C ultraviolet disinfection cabinets. These disinfection cabinets can be used in offices or government agencies to disinfect visitor cards, mobile phones, bags, notebooks and other items in a few seconds. Retail stores can use disinfection cabinets to disinfect returned goods, trial glasses and clothing.

UV-C lamps can also be installed in the transmission channel to disinfect the surface. A UV-C transmission channel for disinfection of shopping carts has been piloted in a large retail store in North America. An Indian hotel plans to use UV-C ultraviolet transmission channels to disinfect their luggage when they check in.

In order to further improve its product portfolio, Signify recently acquired the assets of GLA (Germicidal Lamps & Applications), a small company headquartered in the Netherlands, to enhance its strength in the field of UV-C ultraviolet disinfection applications. The acquisition includes GLA's upper air disinfection product portfolio and its deep expertise in UV-C applications.

Signify stated that there is no need to clear the premises when the upper air disinfection system is used. Such products are hoisted at high places, equipped with special shielding and optical design to prevent UV-C ultraviolet rays from being exposed. The clean air flowing through the ultraviolet radiation area of the lamp completes the air disinfection in the entire space through natural convection. The upper air disinfection system is ideal disinfection equipment for schools, offices, gyms, retail stores and other crowded places.

In addition, Signify also revealed that it will increase the production capacity of UV-C light sources by 8 times during the year.
