Chengdu will add nearly 1,500 LED street lights

According to the relevant staff of the Lighting Department of Chengdu Urban Management Committee, the upgrade of the old street lighting facilities included lamps, light poles, power distribution cabinets and cables.

According to the results of the previous survey, the street lighting facilities that have been upgraded and renovated are more than 100 streets, and 1476 sets of LED lamps are planned to be replaced; 169 columns for light poles; 43 power distribution cabinets; and one old cable.

Among them, the replacement lamps are mainly based on sodium lamps. Due to long-term use, the lampshade is old, which has a great influence on the light transmittance. It is more energy-saving to replace the LED lamps. The main problems of the poles include rust and the obstruction of nearby branches, resulting in general lighting effects. This transformation will solve the problem of tree occlusion by adding lamps below the higher branches.

At present, the upgrading of the old streetlight facilities in more than 100 streets has begun. At the same time, the lighting department of Chengdu Urban Management Committee is intensifying the preparation and upgrading of 82 roads with no lights in the back streets. The streetlight renovation is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
