"China Smart Home Interconnection White Paper" officially released

"China Smart Home Interconnection White Paper (2023)" (hereinafter referred to as "White Paper") is the first white paper dedicated to "Interconnection" in the field of smart home in China. It consists of three parts: the preface, the main body and the conclusion. Among them, the text includes five parts, which are: the status quo of smart home industry; the progress of smart home interconnection; the analysis of smart home interconnection demand; CHEAA/CCSA JWG1 smart home interconnection standard framework; CHEAA&CCSA smart home interconnection development proposals. The "White Paper" focuses on "interconnection", outlines the current development status of smart home interconnection in a panorama, sorts out the needs of smart home interconnection in the new era from multiple perspectives, and puts forward interconnection for reference based on standard integration and innovation. The idea of the top-level design of the standard system aims to promote the smart home interconnection standard from "existent" to "easy to use", guide the industrial practice of smart home interconnection, and promote the healthy development of the smart home industry.

Interconnection is the technical foundation of the smart home scene experience, and also the cornerstone of the rapid development of the smart home industry. With the continuous improvement of the household ownership and user experience of smart devices, the smart home market is growing year by year, and users are increasingly yearning for the better life experience that smart home interconnection can bring. However, the inability to interoperate across brands and ecosystems has always been the main problem plaguing the development of smart homes. Breaking down brand, ecology, and industry barriers and promoting the interconnection of smart homes has become the most concerned and urgent problem among the many challenges facing the development of the smart home industry. To this end, as early as 2019, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association and the China Communications Standards Association signed a memorandum of cooperation to carry out in-depth cooperation across the home appliance industry and the communication and information industry, and established a joint working group (CHEAA/CCSA JWG 1) to jointly formulate smart home solutions. Interoperability standards. The joint release of the "White Paper" is the latest important achievement of the cross-border cooperation between the two major associations and the two major industries. In-depth analysis of enterprises, scenarios, and user needs provides reference and ideas for the interconnection of smart homes.

The "White Paper" clearly pointed out that through the analysis of the interconnection and intercommunication needs of users and the industry chain, the smart home interconnection and intercommunication standards should be systematic and systematic, and need to meet the interconnection and interoperability needs of the entire smart home scene. The construction of the smart home interconnection and intercommunication standard system needs to include a variety of interconnection and interoperability solutions, which can meet different business scenarios. They can be deployed simultaneously or independently to meet the needs of different smart home equipment manufacturers and smart home platforms. Business needs and interest demands of manufacturers, etc. At present, smart home interconnection mainly includes three solutions: local interconnection of terminal equipment, terminal equipment access to cloud platform, and cloud-cloud interconnection, which are used to support different interconnection scenarios and are an organic whole.

The development of smart home relies on the application integration of multiple technologies. The upstream and downstream links of the industrial chain have the characteristics of cross-industry, covering home appliances, communications, Internet, real estate, hotel apartments, decoration, chips, content service providers, security manufacturers, etc. participants. In order to break through the limitations of a single industry and present and comment on the development of smart home interconnection more objectively, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association and the China Communications Standards Association jointly invited relevant experts in the field of smart home Enterprises have formed a writing working group with a strong lineup and wide industry coverage composed of home appliance companies, mobile phone manufacturers, Internet of Things companies, operators, and research institutions. The 28 participating units include: Qingdao Haier Technology Co., Ltd., OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communication Co., Ltd., Vivo Mobile Communication Co., Ltd., ZTE Corporation, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, China Telecom Group Co., Ltd., and China Mobile Communications Group Co., Ltd. Company, Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Tuya Information Technology Co., Ltd., Weikai Testing Technology Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Xinda Jiean Information Technology Co., Ltd., Huawei Terminal Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Supor Co., Ltd., Boding Shihua ( Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd., Qualcomm Wireless Communication Technology (China) Co., Ltd., Ningbo Fotile Kitchenware Co., Ltd., Hisense Home Appliances Group Co., Ltd., Changhong Meiling Co., Ltd., BOE Technology Group Co., Ltd., Inspur Communication Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Samsung Communication Technology Research Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Robam Electric Co., Ltd., Midea Group Co., Ltd., Zhuhai Gree Electric Co., Ltd., Suzhou Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Yunzhiyi Internet of Things Co., Ltd., "Electric Appliance" Magazine, Beijing Association Yuanjing Information Technology Co., Ltd.

The construction and industrial application of the smart home interconnection standard system is the cornerstone of the smart home ecological construction and the healthy development of the smart home industry. At present, China's smart home interconnection standard system still needs to be further improved, and the industrialization of standards is also constantly being explored and practiced, and it is also facing the situation of competition with foreign interconnection standards. Taking advantage of the release of the "White Paper", the two associations jointly called for more forces in the smart home industry to unite together to overcome the barriers of brands, ecology, enterprises, and industries, and jointly promote the industrialization of smart home interconnection standards. Together, they form a complete, independent and controllable smart home interconnection ecology.
