Guangxi Beihai Airport carries out comprehensive maintenance of the navigation lighting system

Recently, Beihai Airport in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region organized maintenance work on the navigation lighting system, carried out comprehensive and in-depth inspections, repairs and maintenance of the system, improved the reliability of power supply in thunderstorm weather, and further ensured the safety of aircraft take-off and landing.

As an important guarantee facility for airport operation, the navigation lighting system plays a key role in the safe take-off and landing of aircraft. Beihai Airport's navigation lighting maintenance personnel use the post-flight time to carefully maintain each lamp in the early morning to ensure the continuous and stable operation of the equipment and provide guidance for the safe take-off and landing of flights. This maintenance work covers subsystems such as runway lighting, taxiway lighting and apron lighting. The cable connection parts of the lamps were checked in particular to confirm their firmness and sealing to prevent safety hazards caused by looseness or open circuits. Problems found during the inspection were corrected immediately, aging cables were replaced in a timely manner, and poorly sealed light boxes were reprocessed to ensure that there were no safety loopholes. The appearance of the lamps was fully inspected, the luminous performance of the lamps was strictly tested, and the brightness, color and beam angle of the lights were verified to meet the specified standards.

During this work, a total of 1,205 runway centerline lights, taxiway lights, taxiway edge lights, etc. were inspected and maintained, more than 20 cable heads were remade, more than 10 isolation transformers were replaced, more than 100 light boxes were cleaned and maintained, and more than 700 meters of cables were replaced. In the future, Beihai Airport will continue to strengthen the daily maintenance and management of the navigation lighting system, establish a normalized maintenance mechanism, continuously improve the maintenance quality and efficiency, and ensure that the system is always in a safe and reliable operating state.
