Henan Province realizes the promotion and application of "LED lighting + visible light communication" technology

On May 27, the reporter learned from the Science and Technology Department of Henan Province that the provincial major science and technology project "developing and applying semiconductor lighting system technology integrated into visible light communication" undertaken by Henan Zhongyun Chuang Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. has successfully passed the acceptance of the expert group. 

The technology products developed by the project have all independent intellectual property rights, and have been the first to implement the promotion and application of LED lighting + VLC in China. The technology and application are leading in China, filling the domestic technical gap and reaching the international advanced level, which will drive a batch of related products. Developments in industries such as the communications industry, the chip industry, and the LED lighting product application industry. The technical achievements of the project are applied to the urban franchise project of LED street lamp energy-saving renovation in Tongbai County, forming a direct economic benefit of 98.29 million yuan.

It is understood that LED lighting + VLC technology, more energy-saving than traditional lighting products. After the project is put into production, it can be used for 24,000 high-power LED street lamps, 1.8 million indoor LED lamps and 174,000 other lamps. Under the same lighting conditions, the annual energy saving of 70.08 million kWh can save the user 42.548 million yuan, equivalent to reducing 2102.4 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions and 252 million tons of standard coal. Compared with Wi-Fi, VLC builds Li-Fi with higher information transmission bandwidth, high transmission efficiency, good confidentiality, and can be used in addition to Wi-Fi in the future.
