Heshan City, Jiangmen, Guangdong Province achieves full coverage of road lighting

As night falls, solar street lamps on Huancun Road in Gelang Village, Yayao Town, Heshan City, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province emit soft light. Villagers no longer have to worry about traveling in the dark. In November this year, Gelang Village achieved full lighting coverage in the village.

In the past, the number of street lights around the village in Gelang Village was small, which posed certain safety risks and caused inconvenience to villagers for leisure walks and vehicle travel after meals. Therefore, installing lighting street lights has become a major wish of the villagers.

In July this year, the Gelang Village Party Branch focused on the "urgent, difficult and anxious" people's livelihood issues and put the street lamp installation project around the village on the agenda. After discussion and research by the village committee and on-site surveys, the construction team built the sections from Jiangsha Highway to Gelangshan Spring Water Sales Department, Sanchakou to Baijing Reservoir, two branch roads on the side of Luhe Villa, Fuying Farm and other branch roads, installed 113 solar street lights with a lighting range of 3,750 meters.

The project was accepted in November this year. The street light installation project around the village in Gelang Village has been fully covered. The installation and put into use of solar street lights will provide convenience for villagers to travel at night, farm production, and carry out cultural and entertainment activities.

Lu Yongbang, Secretary of the Party Branch and Director of the Village Committee of Gelang Village, Yayao Town, said: "Currently, the Huancun Road in Gelang Village has been fully covered by street lights, which greatly facilitates the access of villagers. Now many villagers will go on the Huancun Road at night for a leisurely walk, everyone spoke highly of the Huancun Road streetlight installation project.”

Lu Weiqiang, a villager in Gelang Village, Yayao Town, said that before street lights were installed, the entire road was dark at night. Now that street lights are installed, it is much easier for people to travel.

Since the beginning of this year, the Yayao Town Committee and Town Government have implemented the "High-quality Development Project of Hundreds of Counties, Thousands of Towns and Thousands of Villages" to promote coordinated development of urban and rural areas and promote rural revitalization. The street lamp installation project around the village in Gelang Village lights up the beautiful countryside and also lights up the villagers' trust and support for the Party branch of Gelang Village.
