How to determine glaring LED lamps

After a road LED transformation, people often say it’s glaring, which we call glare, how to determine glaring LED lamps?

Generally, glare can be measured by a photometer distribution. Meanwhile, when the LED light meter is working there will be an indicator of "TI" Threshold increment, if the index is greater than 10%, then  there will be glare in the main road, for the secondary roads or branches, the index can not be greater than 15% . The smaller the value is, the less likely the glare will be.

It is understood that there are two road glare, one is disability glare, the other is uncomfortable glare, both the two can get specific value by calculation and testing. In order to control the road glare and ensure the the effect of application on the road,  first people may require manufacturers to provide calculations, and with preliminary screening, it’s possible to guarantee there is no glare after installation if limiting the thresholds and the I80.

Los technical staff said, using the light distribution to see whether it is consistent with the cross-sectional beam pattern or half-light type lighting: "city road lighting design standards" set forth, expressway, trunk road must cut light type, half-light type lamps; secondary road should be half-light type lighting; branch should adopt the half-light type lighting. Lamps arranged elevation should not exceed 15 °, maximum intensity lighting and vertical angle should not be more than 65 °, if you meet the requirement, the glare will not be exceeded.
