Intelligent Solar LED Streetlights Put into Full Use on Three Main Roads in Ci County, Handan, Hebei
Recently, local residents have noticed that nights on three main urban roads in Ci County, Handan City, Hebei Province - National Highway 107, Hexie North Road, and Hengtai Road - have become exceptionally bright, with softer and warmer lighting.

“In the past, there were no streetlights on this section. Riding a bike after night work made me feel nervous all the time. Now the whole road is well-lit, and I feel much more at ease,” said Mr. Li, who works near Hexie North Road.
“The streetlights that had been broken for a long time are finally fixed!” residents near National Highway 107 commented on Douyin.
Behind this improvement lies the strong determination of the Ci County government to promote the intelligent and green development of urban public infrastructure.
To further upgrade urban lighting quality and ensure residents’ safety at night, the Ci County Landscaping and Greening Center, adhering to the philosophy of “people-oriented and green-first”, has fully promoted the solar streetlight replacement project on major roads including National Highway 107, Hengtai Road, and Hexie North Road. These “smart lights” have brightened the cityscape and added brilliance to both nighttime travel safety and urban appearance.
Aiming for green and low-carbon development, the project has completely replaced traditional streetlights with solar ones, achieving dual breakthroughs in energy self-sufficiency and intelligent control.Over the approximately 7.5 kilometers of the three main roads, more than 300 solar streetlights have been installed. They are equipped with high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon solar panels and large-capacity batteries, supported by a dual light-control and time-control system. The lights can automatically sense ambient light and traffic flow, turn on automatically at night, switch to energy-saving mode in the late night, and maintain stable lighting even during consecutive rainy days.
To ensure long-term stable operation, the Ci County Landscaping and Greening Center has established a closed-loop management system of “inspection - maintenance - upgrade”. A professional technical team conducts full-coverage inspections using a combination of “vehicle patrol + foot patrol” and “day + night” modes. A dedicated record file is set up for each road, and problems such as rusted poles and aging cables are repaired immediately. Control systems including time switches and distribution boxes are also updated synchronously to keep the lighting rate stable above 98%.
