Streetlight Upgrade Completed on Key Roads in Sanmenxia, Henan
Recently, the Urban Lighting Service Center of Sanmenxia City, Henan Province focused on improving residents’ nighttime travel safety and urban lighting quality, and steadily carried out the streetlight head upgrade on key road sections. Lamp replacement has been successfully completed on Caotang Road, Kangyuan Street, Linlong Road, Wuyuan Road (from Yong’an Street to Liufeng Road), and Gantang Road (from Guoguo Road to Hedi North Road). With concrete actions, the center has strengthened the livelihood security and injected new vitality into the city’s nighttime landscape.
As urban construction progresses and lighting facilities age, the original streetlights on some roads have gradually suffered from serious light attenuation, frequent failures, and high energy consumption, leaving dark zones in some areas. These problems not only reduced the comfort and safety of residents’ nighttime travel but also fell short of the city’s overall positioning for high-quality development. Responding to public demands, the Urban Lighting Service Center attached great importance to this livelihood issue, arranged relevant work immediately, and quickly launched the streetlight head upgrade project to deliver practical benefits to the people.
To ensure efficient, orderly and safe project implementation, the center made full preparations before construction. It organized technical backbones to conduct a thorough on-site survey, accurately counted the number of old lamp heads, strictly selected and determined the technical parameters of new lamp heads based on road traffic flow and lighting demand, and formulated a detailed and scientific construction plan. During construction, the center adopted an off-peak construction model to avoid morning and evening rush hours, rationally allocated construction forces, and minimized impacts on traffic and daily travel. The construction team worked with clear division of labor and high efficiency, simultaneously carrying out the removal of old lamp heads and installation of new ones, and successfully replaced 100 old lamp heads with high-efficiency and energy-saving YZDL736B LED streetlight heads.
Quality is the lifeline of the project. After completion, technicians from the center immediately commissioned and inspected each of the 100 newly installed LED streetlights, focusing on key indicators such as lighting rate and illumination uniformity to ensure compliance with urban lighting standards.
This upgrade has effectively eliminated potential safety hazards, significantly improved nighttime road visibility, and made nighttime travel safer and more convenient for residents. Meanwhile, LED lamps feature high efficiency, long service life and environmental friendliness, greatly reducing energy consumption compared with traditional lamps. It has contributed to the city’s practice of green and low-carbon development and the construction of an ecologically livable city.
