According to the "National Health Vision Report", in many classrooms in China, the poor lighting environment such as the desktop and the lack of illumination of the blackboard has caused the problem of young people's vision to become more and more serious. In October 2018, the Education Bureau, the National Health and Family Planning Commission, and the General Office of the State Sports General Administration jointly issued the "Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Prevention and Control of Children and Adolescents' Myopia" to ensure that classroom lighting meets national standards. The intelligent classroom lighting system adds constant illumination and scene switching functions to the traditional classroom, which can better ensure a healthy lighting environment and control convenience.

The lighting effect of the classroom must meet the standards, in order to provide a good learning environment for the children. Good educational lighting will enable children to have a good learning status, and poor educational lighting will affect the physical and mental health of children. To this end, schools must strictly follow the construction standards of ordinary primary and secondary schools and secondary vocational schools, and implement lighting and lighting requirements for classrooms, dormitories, and libraries (reading rooms), and require classroom lighting standards to reach 100%.

In addition, the installation of educational lighting fixtures is also very particular, ordinary electricians may not be able to install reasonably, especially the non-flat-top classrooms. For educational lighting, we need to start from the following points to provide students with a healthy light environment!

  1. Classroom desks are generally arranged in a regular manner for the blackboard. It is advisable to use a uniform lighting method for the ceiling. It should be 2.5-2.9m, and the desk should be 1.7-2.1m, and the average illuminance value on the desk of the classroom should not be lower than 300lx, and the uniformity of illumination should not be lower than 0.7; the classroom blackboard should be set with local illumination. Maintain the average illuminance value can not be lower than 500lx, the illuminance uniformity can not be lower than 0.8, the color rendering index ≥80, the color temperature is between 3300-5500K, and the most critical glare is ≤19.

  2. The control switches for classroom lighting should be arranged in parallel in the direction of the parallel outer window (the blackboard lighting switch should be installed separately). When there is a projection screen, the lighting switch near the projection screen should be able to be set separately, and some corridor lighting fixtures should be turned off during class.

3. The installation height of the luminaire has a certain influence on the lighting effect. When the height of the luminaire increases, the illuminance decreases, the installation height decreases, the glare increases, and the uniformity decreases.

4. In the lecture classroom (collective classroom or lecture hall), the number of lamps is large, and the glare interference is increased. It is advisable to use lamps that have better glare performance, such as Qichen education lighting.
