LED lighting challenges

LED light source longevity and high efficiency basically meet the requirements, but the challenges still exist, the system life is affected by: power supply life, process stability of multiple devices and multiple solder joints, temperature and so on. Reducing glare, optimizing the spot, and eliminating chromatic dispersion will greatly reduce the light efficiency, resulting in lower system efficiency. In areas such as stadium lighting, temperature management is limited, and system power and total luminous flux are still low.

LED lighting challenges

In terms of light quality, the challenge is even greater.

The small size of the LED puts higher requirements on the whole lamp process. Mainstream lenses, especially small beam angles, small volume lenses, and subtle assembly errors can cause sharp degradation of light distribution.

The main light distribution method of lighting products is switched from reflector to lens, and dispersion (speciality of refraction) becomes a big obstacle to light quality. At present, the elimination scheme is also relatively simple.

The consistency of the light source is not well solved, and the color temperature tolerance is large among batches, especially for high-power small-angle linear lamps.

The judgment of the lighting strobe is based on the standard and uniformity.

On flat roads, there are few high-power products, and mainly large-angle light distribution products such as panel lights. The small angle optical solution is absent.

Modular, it is more common in streetlight, tunnel lights, other lamps are developing slowly.

Intelligent, the road is long. Regardless of intelligence, only simple dimming, indoor 0-10V dimming, tangential dimming, Dali control, and DMX512 control commonly used outdoors, how to integrate into one is also a problem faced by actual engineering projects.
