Lighting Project in Yucun Village, Xiaosong Town, Jian'ou City, Nanping, Fujian

Recently, 48 solar streetlights in Yucun Village and Luhou Natural Village, Xiaosong Town, Jian'ou City, Nanping, Fujian Province, have been officially put into use. As night falls, the lights shine like bright beads, illuminating the village roads, effectively improving nighttime travel conditions for villagers, and outlining a warm, bright new vision for the development of local eco-tourism.

The implementation of this project responds to real public demands. Previously, Yucun Village and Luhou Natural Village, especially around the popular tourist spot featuring a hundred-mu peach forest, suffered from insufficient lighting facilities. This not only affected villagers’ nighttime travel and village security but also restricted tourists’ stay and consumption at night, limiting the expansion of the rural tourism industry. After in-depth research and active proposals by municipal and township people’s congress deputies, a special subsidy fund of 200,000 yuan was allocated for the implementation of the lighting project.

A highlight of the project is the design of the signs on the lamp poles. On one side, themed "Light of the People's Congress", vivid cartoon Chinese-style images and slogans illustrate the original aspiration of deputies to serve the people. On the other side, landscapes showcasing Yucun Village’s ecology and natural scenery are displayed, achieving an organic integration of cultural promotion and tourism recommendation. Each streetlight is not only a lighting facility but also a "micro-landscape" that conveys warmth and displays rural features, quietly enhancing the village’s cultural connotation and quality.

This project is a solid demonstration of the people’s congress deputies’ commitment to "responding to the people’s calls", effectively meeting the public’s expectations for a safe and convenient life. More importantly, through the integrated model of "lighting + culture + tourism", the project has extended the operating hours of rural tourism and laid the infrastructure foundation for building Yucun Village into a beautiful and livable destination.

Going forward, Xiaosong Town will continue to maximize project benefits. Taking the lighting project as a starting point, it will integrate rural ecological and cultural resources to help Yucun Village pursue a path of rural revitalization that features both attractive appearance and profound connotation.
