Mafu Village Rural Revitalization Project in Jukou Town, Jianyang District, Nanping City, Fujian Province

As night falls, the lights of the Mafu Village Rural Revitalization Project in Jukou Town, Jianyang District, Nanping City, Fujian Province, gradually light up, entering the final commissioning phase.

At the entrance to Mafu Village, a row of light poles shaped like the Chinese character "马" (horse) draws a striking eye. Currently, the Mafu Village Rural Revitalization Project has over 160 such smart light poles. They provide basic lighting while also integrating surveillance and security, advertising screens, smart broadcasting, and one-touch alarms.

Huang Heshan, lighting designer for the Mafu Village Rural Revitalization Project, said, "This is a relatively intelligent smart light pole. It can be configured to meet different functional requirements based on different scenarios. Previously, many of our light poles had adjacent surveillance and advertising poles. By integrating these smart light poles into one, we've eliminated the clutter of poles, creating a beautiful aesthetic for the entire scenic area and village."

Mafu Village, nestled along the banks of the Mayang River, boasts a history of over 1,100 years. To preserve the charm and unique character of the ancient village, the lighting design utilizes warm-toned spotlights to highlight the wood texture of the ancient buildings. Wall washers flow across the walls, and corrugated lights trace the roof ridges, using light as a brush to outline the contours of the rising eaves and corners.

Huang Heshan, lighting design lead for the Mafu Village Rural Revitalization Project, said: "We illuminate the outlines of the rooftops throughout the village, highlighting them so that people can see the village as they pass through the 'ring belt.' It's a very beautiful village, so we adopted this traditional static design."

In addition to the static landscape, the project also utilizes modern lighting technology to create three interactive lighting check-in points: a wall laser projection show, an interactive floor projection, and an interactive musical fountain. Combining movement and stillness, blending ancient and modern elements, Mafu Village will offer visitors an immersive, all-weather experience.

Huang Heshan, lighting designer for the Mafu Village Rural Revitalization Project, stated, "The Mafu Rural Revitalization Project is designed not only as a tourist and leisure destination, but also as a place for study and research. Besides leisure for adults, there must also be areas for children to play. Therefore, in these interactive lighting areas, we fully considered the design requirements of the entire park."
