New streetlights brighten Quandu Avenue in Xianning, Hubei Province

Recently, the Xianning Municipal Government Investment Project Construction Management Bureau announced the completion of the first phase of Quandu Avenue's streetlight construction project. The 6.2-kilometer section from the intersection of Qigu Avenue and Henggou Avenue, as well as the Xianning East Expressway ramp, now features streetlights on both sides of the road, facilitating nighttime travel for both vehicles and pedestrians.

It is understood that the first phase of Quandu Avenue, built many years ago, is subject to frequent and high-speed truck traffic at night, along with the large number of commuters from surrounding businesses, posing significant safety risks. The installation of streetlights has been a long-awaited goal for businesses and residents along the route. Since the end of last year, the city has been fully committed to the first phase of Quandu Avenue's streetlight construction, installing five new box-type streetlight transformers and intelligent streetlight control boxes, and nearly 400 dimmable, high-efficiency LED streetlights.

The construction team completed the lighting of over 160 streetlights on the east side by the end of January this year, ultimately achieving full illumination on both sides of 

the road in early May. On the night of May 8th, along the Phase I section of Quandu Avenue, the gray-black lampposts looked remarkably refined, and the high-efficiency LED lights shone brightly, clearly illuminating passing vehicles and pedestrians. From a high vantage point, Quandu Avenue resembled a shimmering galaxy, piercing the darkness and extending directly into the main urban area.

"With the streetlights installed on both sides, the road is brighter, making nighttime travel much safer. With the lights, drivers have a wider field of vision ahead, less eye fatigue, and a much easier drive," said a resident surnamed Lei near Quandu Avenue, praising the lighting project.
