Pishan County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang Advances Streetlight Renovation and Maintenance
To continuously optimize the living environment within the county seat, enhance the functionality of municipal infrastructure, and effectively safeguard the safety of residents traveling at night, Pishan County-located in the Hotan Prefecture of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region-has, since the beginning of this year, focused its efforts on a comprehensive lighting enhancement project for the county seat. The county has diligently carried out the renovation and reuse of aging streetlights, the installation of new streetlights along newly developed routes, and routine maintenance operations. By comprehensively addressing existing deficiencies in the county's lighting infrastructure, these initiatives aim to make the urban nights brighter and ensure that residents can travel with greater peace of mind.

Streetlights in the county seat serve not only as a vital showcase of the town's character but also as fundamental public welfare facilities that directly impact the daily lives of its residents. In response to issues such as aging fixtures, insufficient illumination, and outdated equipment observed along certain routes, Pishan County has adhered to principles of scientific planning and targeted policy implementation. By proceeding in a systematic manner-categorizing work by specific road segments and executing it in batches-the county is orderly advancing the quality upgrade and renovation of its streetlights, thereby steadily increasing both the coverage and quality of road illumination throughout the urban area.
Regarding the renovation and reuse of aging streetlights, Pishan County has prioritized upgrade projects for fixtures along several major and secondary thoroughfares within the urban core. Currently, renovation work is proceeding in an orderly fashion along four specific routes in the new urban district: Dongjing 4th Road, Dongjing 5th Road, Dongjing 6th Road, and the Farm Main Canal Bridge route. Foundation pouring-a critical preliminary step-has been successfully completed for all 156 streetlight locations across these four routes, thereby establishing a secure structural base for the entire project. To date, 152 streetlights have been successfully hoisted and installed, while the remaining construction tasks are progressing steadily according to schedule. Upon completion, this renovation project will significantly improve nighttime lighting conditions along these four routes; simultaneously, it will revitalize aging municipal assets, achieve greater energy efficiency, and give these older roads a fresh, new look.
Concurrently, the construction of entirely new streetlights is also advancing with high efficiency. To further refine the lighting network along the county seat's main arteries and elevate the overall standard of urban illumination, Pishan County has fully committed to the implementation of a new streetlight installation project along Yingbin Avenue. To date, the installation and construction work for 59 streetlights along this avenue has been successfully completed. Brand-new streetlights line both sides of the road in neat rows; not only have they completely eliminated lighting blind spots along the Welcome Avenue and significantly enhanced road safety, but they have also added a clean and striking nocturnal aesthetic to this major urban thoroughfare, thereby contributing to the simultaneous enhancement of the city's visual appeal and overall quality.
