Repair of Road Lighting Facilities in Urban Area of Guigang, Guangxi
Recently, the Urban Administration Bureau of Guigang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has addressed the prominent problem of insufficient lighting on some urban roads raised by residents. The bureau has made careful arrangements and efficiently advanced the repair of road lighting facilities, achieving phased results. All streetlights along North Jintian Road were fully restored on the evening of June 16. Repair works on Ping’an Road, Gongzhou Road, Dakai Road and other sections are progressing in an orderly manner, effectively improving the nighttime travel environment in the urban area.
Streetlights on North Jintian Road, Ping’an Road, Gongzhou Road, Dakai Road and other sections had remained out of service for a long time due to damaged transformer components, stolen cables and incomplete supporting facilities, posing safety risks for residents travelling at night. On the basis of preliminary on-site inspections, the Municipal Urban Administration Bureau formulated targeted maintenance plans following the principle of "one scheme for each road" and officially commenced construction in early June. Concentrated construction was carried out from June 8 to 16. More than 200 technical staff and 42 maintenance vehicles were deployed, and 1,000 meters of cables were laid. On the evening of June 16, streetlights along the whole North Jintian Road were put back into operation first, greatly facilitating nighttime travel for nearby residents.
Moving forward, the Urban Administration Bureau of Guigang City will accelerate the repair work on remaining sections including Ping’an Road, Gongzhou Road and Dakai Road, striving to complete all works before National Day so as to remedy inadequate urban lighting. Meanwhile, the bureau will improve the regular inspection and maintenance mechanism for streetlights to eliminate faults and hidden dangers in a timely fashion, continuously lift the service quality of urban nighttime lighting. More roads will be illuminated, enabling residents to travel safely and smoothly after dark.
