Shihezi City, Xinjiang Continuously Enhances Urban Nightscapes Through Lighting Improvements
To ensure optimal operation of urban lighting facilities and elevate refined management standards, the Municipal Engineering Maintenance Center of Shihezi City Urban Administration Bureau in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has implemented its "Three Inspections + One Maintenance" protocol (routine patrols, systematic checks, supervision audits, and proactive maintenance). By focusing on critical areas and precise interventions, the center drives continuous improvements in urban lighting-brightening the city's nights and creating an aesthetically pleasing nighttime environment while delivering warm, people-centered services.

Urban lighting serves not only as municipal infrastructure but also as a project close to citizens' hearts. Through dedicated night inspection teams and strict adherence to the "Three Inspections + One Maintenance" approach, the center conducts daily patrols to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues on-site. Additionally, refined maintenance efforts target older, dimmer lighting nodes to enhance streetlight quality-ensuring safe and comfortable nighttime mobility while conveying urban warmth.
Recent achievements include:
Repairing 12 streetlights citywide
Replacing 35 meters of cables
Upgrading 12 control units
The center maintains rigorous oversight of key roads and districts through its protocol:
1. Timely task assignment - Immediately addressing identified lighting issues with responsible units
2. Hazard elimination - Resolving safety risks without delay
3. Precision management - Monitoring lighting fixtures and distribution boxes to ensure compliance with illumination rate (≥98%) and functionality standards
