The indoor fluorescent lamps (also known as fluorescent lamps) in administrative agencies and libraries in Taiwan were replaced with high-efficiency LED lamps. A total of more than 3.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity was saved, and the power saving rate reached more than 50%.

In view of the many excellent characteristics of LEDs and the promotion of policies, Taiwanese people will gradually replace their home lamps. In 2018, the private research organization LEDinside proposed that the LED lighting market scale is expected to reach 56.6 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. In response to the changing trend of discarded lighting sources, the Environmental Protection Agency announced that it will officially recycle waste LED lighting source products starting from January 1, 2017. The types of recycling of LED products include straight tube type, circular tube type, compact type and ballast. Tibetan-style and other four types, as the amount of recycling of waste LED lighting products increases, their recycling methods and recycling pipelines will also begin to receive attention.
