Smart Connected LED Street Lamps installed in China exceeded 10,000 sets

As an important part of the Shantou Smart Connected Street Light Project, the installation of the Smart Interconnected Street Light and the road lighting and landscape lighting project in Shantou city were completed in April 2018. The successful completion of the project not only satisfies the high-quality lighting requirements of new projects such as the Yanshi Bridge, but also provides strong support for the existing lighting LED transformation projects such as highways in downtown Shantou. In addition to Shantou, Guangzhou, the leading city of the Pearl River Delta, has also selected Philips LED street lighting products in the 2017 South China Fast Mainline energy-saving renovation project and Guangzhou Zengcheng Shazhuang-Huadu Beixing Highway full-line reconstruction project.

The road lighting network is a traditional backbone system for urban basic services and an important part of the smart city infrastructure in the era of the Internet of Things. Since its introduction, Philips LED intelligent interconnected road lighting products and systems have been deployed in more than 850 projects in 37 countries around the world to meet the needs of the Internet of Things and smart city construction. The flexibility of the Philips CityTouch flex adapter network is rich, and the upper layer docking method is rich. It can be adapted to different network standards including the narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) and the upper level smart city management platform to deliver the value of “light, beyond sight”.

Since its launch in China in May 2017, the Philips CityTouch flex has been deployed in China's three major economic centers including the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Pearl River Delta. The completion of the installation of the 10,000th set of intelligent interconnected street lights is a new milestone in the comprehensive promotion of this series of products and systems in China. With the increasing demand for the construction of IoT and smart cities in more cities, the extensive coverage and large number of features of lighting will play a pivotal role in it, and provide guarantees for future upgrades of smart city management platforms.
