Streetlights Illuminate Wuwei Town, Jiangnan District, Nanning
As dusk falls and twilight deepens, newly installed solar streetlights illuminate Guangming Road in Wuwei Town, Jiangnan District, Nanning, heading towards Mingyang Industrial Park, creating a brightly lit road. "Before, driving to the park at night, especially on rainy days, was always nerve-wracking due to the dim lighting and poor visibility," said Mr. Huang, a truck driver who frequently travels to and from the park, a relieved smile on his face as he looked at the brand-new streetlights. Recently, the streetlight illumination project in Wuwei Town was completed and put into operation, effectively solving the problem of insufficient nighttime lighting on key roads in the area.
During a survey, Wuwei Town discovered that key roads such as Youyi Road and Guangming Road suffered from insufficient nighttime lighting, and some main roads had malfunctioning or missing municipal streetlights. This not only posed significant safety hazards to residents traveling at night but also directly affected the nighttime operations of businesses along the streets, hindering the development of the town's nighttime economy. Wuwei Town focused on improving road safety and the living environment, starting with on-site investigations of lighting deficiencies and scientific planning of streetlight locations, to the coordinated promotion of project construction. Using the streetlighting project as a "small entry point," it leveraged a significant improvement in the town's refined governance.
Wuwei Town fully utilized its paired Party building initiatives to establish a platform for communication and cooperation between the government and enterprises, stimulating the social responsibility and commitment of local businesses and forging a powerful synergy for governance through multi-party participation and shared benefits. Caring enterprises such as the Wuxiang Headquarters Branch of Guangxi Beibu Gulf Bank, the Wuwei Credit Union of Nanning Yongning District Rural Credit Cooperative Union, and Guangxi Yichebao Investment Co., Ltd. actively responded to the call, donating over 500,000 yuan to purchase more than 350 wall-mounted solar streetlights and more than 240 pole-mounted solar streetlights, which were installed in batches in key areas such as the Youyi Road Yingfang traffic light intersection to the Zero Kilometer Airport Industrial Park section and the Guangming Road to Mingyang Industrial Park section.
Each streetlight illuminates a safe path for residents and activates new momentum for urban development. The commissioning of this street lighting project not only strengthens road safety, making nighttime travel safer and smoother for residents, but also further improves urban infrastructure, addresses the shortcomings in the development of Wuwei Town's nighttime economy, and effectively enhances the town's livability and business environment. It allows businesses and residents to experience the warmth and effectiveness of meticulous governance amidst the bright lights.
