Century LED conducted consumer surveys in four cities in Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai and Bangalore, India, in order to understand consumer preferences and the way in which decorative space lighting is purchased, as well as consumer spending.

The survey conducted surveys of 150 consumers, most of whom were young people between the ages of 25 and 35, accounting for 68.6%, followed by the 36-45 and 46-55 age groups. Accounted for 16% and 9.6%, and finally more than 55 years, only 5.8%. Consumers are randomly selected, regardless of gender, age, and socioeconomic status.

Among these respondents, 49.7% of people use LEDs as home or office lighting, 46.2% use CFL bulbs (compact fluorescent), and the remaining 5.1% and 1.9% Using fluorescent bulbs and incandescent bulbs, respectively, may be due to low bulb prices or they do not understand. At the start of this survey, it was found that 7.3% of participants did not know the light bulb type of their home/office. This shows that these people need to improve their understanding of the lighting industry.

Among these respondents, 35.7% of people buy their own lights. Sometimes, the decision to buy a lamp was made by the father, which accounted for 49.7%. The rest was decided by the husband, which accounted for 5.1%, and the ratio of women buying lamps was 9.5%.

When asked about the energy efficiency of lamps, about 82.2% of people mentioned LED bulbs. The remaining 15.3% and 2.5% believe that energy-saving lamps and fluorescent lamps are the most energy-efficient. Therefore, it can be observed that these respondents know that incandescent light bulbs do not belong to the field of energy conservation.

According to the survey, about 40.7% of respondents will buy lights based on energy consumption. Another parameter to consider is the life of the bulb. About 15.9% of people will check the life of the lamp when they buy it, and 10.8% will check the color of the lamp to choose warm or cold light. The other 16% and 10.8% will buy lights based on brightness and price. Only 4.5% prefer to use a particular brand of labels. In addition, 3% of the people combined these factors when choosing a light bulb.

    Regarding the bulb brightness, 53.5% of the people looked at the power, 23.6% saw the lumens, and 16.6% did not look at the bulbs. They would listen to the opinions of the store, and 6.4% would buy it. Similar to the brightness of existing light bulbs.

   When asked about brand preference, 61.1% chose Phillips LED, 29.3% chose Syska LED, 1.9% chose Bajaj LED, and the rest chose other brands.

   Of these respondents, 48.4% were prepared to replace old lighting systems with LED bulbs, 10.2% did not care about the type of lamp used, and 41.4% considered using LED lighting solutions in the future.
