Jingji Road in Runzhou District, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, receives a brand new look after its lighting renovation
Jinshan Subdistrict, leveraging the "Sycamore Street Affairs Council" platform, collaborated with multiple departments, businesses, residents, and experts to discuss the lighting plan. Over 30 public opinions, including "preserving historical charm," "protecting sycamore trees," and "attracting young people," were consolidated into the renovation concept of "culture as the soul, ecology as the foundation, and commerce as the purpose."

Construction on the Jingji Road lighting project officially began on April 19th, and after seven days of intense work, the road was officially turned on on the evening of April 26th. The construction team employed a "nighttime segmented work plus daytime commissioning" model to efficiently complete the underground installation of power and communication systems and the intelligent dimming system.
Forty sycamore trees are dotted with lanterns and rattan ball lights along their branches. Warm light streams through the foliage, complementing the light strips on the arcade columns, creating an immersive scene where "nature and humanity dance together."
Ms. Wang, a longtime resident of Gyeonggi Road, remarked, "I can enjoy the 'old-world flavor' of the ancient buildings while experiencing the trendy 'nightlife'."
The transformation of Gyeonggi Road is not only a physical renewal, but also a practice of a grassroots "co-construction, co-governance, and shared benefits" governance model, writing a paper on the renewal of the old city, "using light as the pen and the people as the ink."
