90 New High-Mast Streetlights Warm Hearts in Youkake Huoyi Village, Xinjiang

At dusk on April 13, as darkness began to fall over Youkake Huoyi Village, Yumai Town, Akto County, Kizilsu Kirghiz Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the 90 newly installed high-mast streetlights along the main roads and public areas gradually lit up one by one. The soft, bright light dispelled the night, illuminating every village path and reaching into the hearts of the residents.

Previously, the village work team stationed by the Kizilsu Prefecture Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Youkake Huoyi Village discovered during door-to-door visits and opinion gathering that "some sections of the village are pitch dark at night, making it inconvenient and unsafe to go out" was a prominent issue raised by many villagers. Installing streetlights had become a shared aspiration.

The village work team promptly prioritized village lighting as a key public welfare project for the year, actively reported the situation to their supporting unit, and secured backing. Soon, 50,000 yuan in funding was secured, providing a solid foundation for the village lighting project. The streetlight installation benefited all seven village groups, with a total of 90 high-mast streetlights installed, effectively achieving coverage of the public lighting network.

"Before, we had to carry flashlights when going out at night, especially the elderly and children. We were always worried they might fall. Now, with the roads so brightly lit, I feel much more at ease. The work team has truly done a great thing!" praised villager Yusuyin·Shawuti.

Now that all the new streetlights are in operation, they have not only effectively resolved the difficulties villagers faced when traveling at night but have also significantly improved the village's overall appearance and public infrastructure. Under the night sky, Youkake Huoyi Village is no longer silent and dark, but filled with safety and warmth.
