Shiyan in Hubei Realizes Full Coverage of Intelligent Control for LED Streetlights

To continuously advance the intelligent upgrading of urban lighting and further improve the efficiency of urban lighting management, the Public Utilities Service Center of Shiyan City, Hubei Province has steadily pushed forward the deployment of intelligent streetlight terminals. With the installation, commissioning and operation of the last batch of streetlight monitoring terminals on Daling Road, Qingtan Road, Sichuan Road and other sections, the center has installed a total of 234 intelligent streetlight monitoring terminals, realizing full coverage of intelligent monitoring and control over streetlights and lifting the smart management level of urban lighting to new heights.

Relying on the established intelligent streetlight management and control system and digital management platform, operation and maintenance personnel can accurately monitor operating parameters such as current and voltage of streetlight circuits on all road sections under urban jurisdiction. The system can automatically identify circuit faults, abnormal power cuts and other problems on road sections and push early warning information in the first place. Operation and maintenance staff can timely grasp the operating status of lighting facilities in each area. The management mode shifts from "manual line patrol" to "intelligent early warning", which enables precise positioning of fault points, greatly shortens the time for fault investigation and disposal, and effectively improves the efficiency of streetlight operation and maintenance. Meanwhile, integrated with latitude-longitude timing control and photocontrol functions, the system can automatically adjust the switching time of streetlights according to sunrise and sunset. It supports automatic or manual advance switch-on under low-illumination weather such as rainy and foggy days. The digital transformation renders urban lighting management more efficient, precise and humanized.

Moving forward, the Public Utilities Service Center of Shiyan City will further tap into the functions of the smart lighting platform, continuously optimize the sectional lighting management and control mode, refine operation and maintenance service measures, and steadily boost the support capacity of urban lighting. Bright lights will guard the city at night and create a safe, comfortable and livable nighttime travel environment for citizens.
