New Dust Suppression Mode of "Street Lamp Sprinkling" on Hengshan Avenue, Hengshan County, Hengyang, Hunan

To further improve urban air quality, control road dust and optimize residents’ travel environment, the intelligent spray dust suppression system mounted on street lamp poles along Hengshan Avenue (from Shenlong Hotel Intersection to Huanxian Road Section) in Hengshan County, Hengyang City, Hunan Province has been fully installed and officially put into regular operation recently.

No additional poles or repeated construction are required. Urban street lamp poles have been quietly upgraded into intelligent eco-friendly dust suppression devices, which clean and cool the road surfaces, delivering fresher air, cleaner roads and a more pleasant travel experience in Hengshan.

Street Lamps Transformed: Full Launch of Intelligent Spray System

The renovation covers the entire stretch of Hengshan Avenue between Shenlong Road and Huanxian Road. All equipment installation, pipeline layout and system commissioning are carried out on existing lamp poles in a standardized, safe and efficient manner, minimizing disruptions to public travel.

The upgraded intelligent spray system features stable performance and automatic operation. It sprays water mist on preset schedules to suppress dust, lower ambient temperature, humidify air and purify the atmosphere, comprehensively upgrading road sanitation conditions.

II. Non-intrusive Operation: No Interference to Traffic or Lighting

Many residents have raised concerns whether the mist will block sightlines for pedestrians and drivers or damage the street lamps. Relevant explanations are provided as follows:

Fully automatic operation: The system sprays regularly at preset time slots with intelligent start and stop, requiring no manual control.

Safe and unobstructed: The soft, fine mist will not obscure sightlines or hinder vehicles and pedestrians, posing no safety risks.

Independent operation without lighting interference: The equipment runs separately and will not alter or impair the normal night lighting function of street lamps.

Continuous mist spraying effectively relieves scorching road surfaces in summer and daily road dust, creating a moister, cooler roadside environment and greatly boosting the city’s livability.
