LED Light Strips Unveiled on Traffic Light Poles in Suqian, Jiangsu Province

To effectively ensure the safety of citizens, the Suqian Municipal Public Security Traffic Management Department in Jiangsu Province has installed eye-catching LED light strips on traffic light poles. The red, yellow, and green colors complement each other, creating a striking visual effect. The light strips change color synchronously with the traffic lights, expanding the visibility distance and angle. Even in inclement weather or when large vehicles obstruct the view, pedestrians and vehicles can still clearly see the traffic lights, effectively preventing accidental red-light running.

Suqian not only has "plus" versions of traffic lights, but its zebra crossings are also unique. At intersections with high traffic volume in the urban area, the traffic management department has constructed intelligent illuminated zebra crossings. These crossings automatically light up as the traffic lights change, reminding drivers to yield and also alerting those engrossed in their phones to cross the road safely. At intersections on main roads and near schools in the urban area, "stepped" stop lines have been installed to eliminate blind spots caused by vehicles yielding to pedestrians at zebra crossings.

Traffic management departments have continuously optimized traffic signals, relying on radar-based technology to accurately capture vehicle queue lengths in real time and dynamically adjust the release time of traffic lights, achieving a shift from "cars waiting for lights" to "lights watching cars."

In response to the sharp decrease in traffic and pedestrian flow at night, an innovative "half-light mode" for optimized release has been adopted. This involves turning off the independent left-turn signal light and using a unified round light for control, implementing simultaneous release of left-turn and straight-ahead traffic, significantly improving traffic efficiency.
