Lighting renovation of more than 400 school classrooms in Guichi District, Chizhou City, Anhui Province

Recently, the Ministry of Education, together with the National Health Commission and the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, issued the “Notice on Grasping the Key Stage of Myopia Prevention and Control in Kindergartens and Primary Schools”, making the prevention of “little glasses” once again a hot topic of concern to the whole society.

Lighting renovation of more than 400 school classrooms in Guichi District, Chizhou City, Anhui Province

The author learned from the Education and Sports Bureau of Guichi District, Chizhou City, Anhui Province that the district party committee and district government have long attached great importance to the problem of myopia among young children and implemented a series of precise and effective measures to prevent “little glasses”. Especially since 2022, our district has taken the transformation of classroom light environment as an important measure to prevent and control myopia among children and adolescents, and has invested more than 5 million yuan in total to implement the “Classroom Light Environment Standard Project” to improve the classroom light environment, prevent myopia among children and adolescents, and protect the “bright future” of students.

Zhujia Central School is one of the schools that benefited from this livelihood project. Recently, following the sound of reading aloud, the author walked into the classrooms of the school. The students sat down neatly. Under the illumination of 9 eye protection lamps and 3 blackboard lamps above the classroom, the whole classroom looked bright and warm. Under the comfortable light, the children read the text, wrote furiously, or stared at the blackboard. “The light of the eye protection lamp is sufficient and soft, which not only brings a comfortable visual experience to the children, but also significantly improves their concentration in class and greatly improves their learning efficiency.” Li Peigen, a science teacher at the school, said.

It is understood that the Zhujia Central School has fully completed the eye protection lamp renovation project in 15 classrooms. Before the renovation, most of the classrooms in the school used traditional fluorescent lighting, which was harsh and dazzling. On rainy days, problems such as insufficient lighting, blackboard reflection, and unclear multimedia blackboard display were particularly prominent, which not only affected the students’ vision health, but also had a negative impact on learning efficiency. After the renovation, the 9 eye protection lamps fully achieved the effect of uniform illumination, bright and comfortable, and the 3 blackboard lamps were also quite particular, using a special installation angle. When the light was directly shining, the handwriting on the blackboard was clearly visible, but the students under the stage and the teachers on the stage could avoid the direct light, greatly reducing the sense of glare.

Jiayuguan completes the improvement and renovation of the lighting environment of 532 classrooms

In recent years, the problem of “little glasses” has become increasingly prominent, and the phenomenon of myopia among students has gradually become younger and more common. The Jiayuguan Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have taken the health of children seriously, and included the improvement and renovation of the lighting environment of primary and secondary school classrooms in the 2024 practical projects for the people, and made every effort to promote the full coverage of the “Bright Eye Project” in primary and secondary schools, comprehensively optimize the school’s eye and optometry environment, and help the healthy growth of children and adolescents in our city.

Jiayuguan completes the improvement and renovation of the lighting environment of 532 classrooms

Carry out preliminary investigations and build a “database”. A comprehensive investigation was conducted on 892 ordinary classrooms in primary and secondary schools across the city, and all 532 classrooms that had not yet completed the eye protection lamp renovation were included in the renovation scope. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the differences in classroom structure and area, the three renovation plans of “9+2”, “9+3” and “12+2” were finally determined. Different renovation plans were adopted for different classrooms, and efforts were made to optimize the optometry environment of each classroom.

Strictly follow the work process and keep a good “quality control”. As the project implementation unit, the Municipal Education Bureau set up a special project team. The heads of the 17 schools involved in the project participated in the whole process, and the relevant parameters were repeatedly checked and carefully demonstrated. Before the construction, a meeting between schools and merchants was organized to put forward specific requirements for the implementation of the project; during the construction, a third party was invited to conduct illumination testing in the model room, and quality sampling was organized after the construction to ensure the quality of the project.

Keep a close eye on the time nodes and grasp the “progress bar”. Determine the work system in which the leaders in charge of the bureau and relevant departments are in charge, the leaders in charge participate in the whole process, and the project schools are responsible for their own responsibilities, and strive to promote the implementation of the project. Make a schedule, reverse the construction period, reconcile and close the accounts, and the relevant responsible leaders go deep into the site to understand the progress in a timely manner, coordinate and solve specific problems, and ensure that the project is steadily advanced according to the planned time nodes.

After the autumn semester started, 532 classrooms in various schools successfully completed the lighting environment improvement and transformation. The original fluorescent lamps were all replaced with LED microcrystalline panel lamps, and the classroom illumination and uniformity met national standards. Sitting in the bright classroom, the students truly felt the care of the municipal party committee and government. The soft light was like a barrier, protecting the children’s eyesight health.

Some newly built lighting facilities on Jinyang Avenue in Taiyuan have been turned on

The supporting lighting facilities of Jinyang Avenue do not belong to the management scope of the Taiyuan Urban Management Lighting Center, but in accordance with the requirements of the “Spring Thunder Action” to improve the quality of municipal facilities management and maintenance of the bureau, the Lighting Center has organized forces to carry out an overall overhaul of the lighting facilities on Jinyang Avenue since early April: for the nearly 3.5-kilometer-long lighting poles, more than 200 sets of grounding equipment were added, and 212 grounding steel bars were welded to ensure the safety of the grounding of the poles along the entire line before the flood season arrives, and to prevent pole leakage accidents. For important crossing nodes, more than 30 lighting inspection wells were added, more than 400 meters of power supply cables were replaced, 5 distribution cabinet facilities with hidden dangers were replaced, and 3 lighting “three remote” control systems were installed to effectively enhance the power supply guarantee capacity of the underground pipeline network.

The Taiyuan Urban Management Lighting Center also gathered technical backbones to repair and restore the lighting fixtures in the underpass of a power plant on Jinyang Avenue. At present, the finishing work of the overhaul of Jinyang Avenue’s lighting facilities is still in progress.

Hubei Yilai Expressway Yanjiaping Bridge lighting project completed

“It’s lit!” On the evening of May 1, at the construction site of the Yanjiaping Bridge of Yilai Expressway Section 4 in Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, Yichang City, Hubei Province, 11 street lamps were lit up at the same time, and the originally dark village road was instantly illuminated.

Hubei Yilai Expressway Yanjiaping Bridge lighting project completed

“In order to help villagers solve the inconvenience of night travel and actively promote the progress of the project and improve the conditions for night construction, it was decided to install 11 street lamps in the Yanjiaping area of Maoping Village, Wufeng Town. At present, all have been debugged and put into use.” According to Gao Junlong, secretary of the Yilai Expressway Section 4 Project Department of the contractor China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau, after communication and coordination with Hubei Jiaotong Yichang Construction Management Co., Ltd. and the government departments of the project location, the street lamps began construction on April 27. With the cooperation of the project department construction personnel and local villagers, it took 3 days to complete.

“It is much brighter now, and the construction status of each point is clear at a glance, which is convenient for observation and dispatch at any time.” Wu Chunfang, the person in charge of the Yanjiaping Bridge team, said that this 500-meter section of the road is the main trunk road for construction and transportation. At night, vehicles and personnel can only rely on driving lights and flashlights to travel and work. In addition, the mountain road is rugged and difficult to travel, which brings inconvenience to construction work and also poses certain safety hazards.

“Now I don’t have to go out in the dark at night. Since the construction of the expressway, the road in front of the door has been built into a concrete pavement, and corrugated guardrails have been installed on the roadside. The road is easier to walk than before. Now there are street lights, which makes daily travel much more convenient.” As a member of the street light installation process, villager Xu Nengmeng fully carried forward the spirit of co-creation, used his spare time to participate in the construction, and provided solid logistical services for the project construction free of charge.

As a member of the construction team of the Yichang section of the Yilai Expressway, the Yilai Expressway Section 4 Project Department of China Railway Construction Bridge Bureau has actively communicated and coordinated with the owner and local government departments since the start of construction, effectively ensuring the smooth progress of each construction site and each construction link of the project.

Seoul National University team develops flexible Micro LED connection technology

On June 6, a research team led by Yongtaek Hong, a professor in the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at Seoul National University, announced that the team has developed a new technology to connect Micro LEDs to flexible and stretchable devices.

Seoul National University team develops flexible Micro LED connection technology

It is reported that the researchers used a dip-transfer coating technique to selectively pattern the adhesive precursor onto the surface of the micro device. The adhesive contains ferromagnetic particles that can be self-assembled into anisotropic chains using a magnetic field. This method can provide low contact resistance for device interconnection and no electrical interference between fine-pitch terminals.

In addition to being able to assemble flexible and stretchable Micro LED arrays, this technology can also be used to create a Micro LED display device that can be attached to the skin to detect human body temperature and visualize data on the display.

The research team explained that the new technology overcomes the problem of low elasticity and flexibility of electrodes and substrates caused by the harder properties of anisotropic conductive film materials, as well as the problem of low bonding stability caused by softer adhesives.

The research team said that using this new technology, the team integrated the micro IC driver and LED display unit into a flexible PCB, realizing an ultra-small wearable display and sensor system that is smaller than existing commercial micro IC chips.

The research team said that this new technology can systematically integrate high-performance microelectronic devices while maximizing the mechanical properties of flexible and stretchable systems. This technology will contribute to the commercialization of flexible displays.

It is reported that the research was supported by Samsung, and the research paper has been published in the academic journal Nature Electronics.

Emergency lighting towers help harvest wheat fields in Beizijing Village, Zhoucun Town, Dingzhou City, Baoding, Hebei

Recently, extreme weather such as high temperature and strong winds have occurred in many places in Hebei. Even in the middle of the night, the wheat fields are still rolling with heat waves.

Emergency lighting towers help harvest wheat fields in Beizijing Village, Zhoucun Town, Dingzhou City, Baoding, Hebei

Power outages, electricity testing, installation of grounding wires and fences, hanging signs… At 0:10 on June 12, in the wheat fields of Beizijing Village, Zhoucun Town, Dingzhou City, Baoding, Hebei Province, Li Qiang, Wang Weifeng, and Liu Qiang, employees of Zhoucun Power Supply Station of Baoding Dingzhou Power Supply Company, were arranging safety measures and preparing to carry out “zero-point operations”. They will use the low-power period at night to eliminate defects in the distribution transformer of the 11th area of Beizijing Public Agriculture on the 10kV Qiantun Line.

At this moment, at the other end of the wheat field, two farmers drove electric tricycles along the field road quickly, followed by a harvester. Seeing the anxious look of the farmers, Li Qiang, the person in charge of the construction site work, hurried to meet them. After talking, it was learned that the farmers were Duan Lishuang, a villager of Beizijing Village, and his wife.

“The weather has changed too fast recently. It was sunny in the morning, but it started to flash and blow in the evening. The wheat is ripe and waiting to be harvested, but I am afraid that it will suddenly blow and rain.” Duan Lishuang said that he felt very uneasy when he saw the weather changing. It is the busy season for summer harvest. Large areas of wheat are ripe and waiting to be harvested, and the “reservations” of harvesters are tight. On the evening of June 11, Duan Lishuang saw that the weather was bad and worried that rain would affect the wheat harvest, so he hurriedly contacted the harvester and planned to rush to harvest at night. However, there were too many people waiting in line, and it was not until the early morning that it was his turn.

While Li Qiang and Duan Lishuang were talking, the harvester had slowly landed. Due to the limited illumination range of the harvester’s built-in lighting, the harvesting progress was slow.

Rush to harvest wheat is a race against time and weather. Looking at Duan Lishuang who was always worried, Li Qiang had an idea in his mind: “Don’t worry, I’ll ask my colleagues to send two emergency lighting equipment.”

Five minutes later, the repair vehicle carrying two emergency lighting towers arrived at the scene. Seeing the two “huge monsters”, Duan Lishuang curiously approached.

The lamp heads of these two emergency lighting towers can be automatically raised, and the lighting direction can be adjusted 360 degrees. Li Qiang turned on the control switch, raised the equipment bracket, adjusted the direction of the lighting, and pressed the start button. The two emergency lighting towers instantly lit up the wheat field.

With good lighting conditions, the harvesting speed of the harvester was significantly accelerated, and Duan Lishuang was relieved. At the same time, the work of eliminating defects in the equipment also began. Under the night sky, in the brightly lit wheat fields, the “double rush” scenes of summer grain harvesting and power equipment “eliminating defects” were intertwined.

After 30 minutes, the harvesting work was completed and the wheat was successfully loaded. Duan Lishuang held Li Qiang’s hand and said, “It’s going to rain, and I’m so anxious! Fortunately, I met you today, you are so awesome!”

The harvester slowly drove out of the wheat field, and the farmers returned with a full load with smiles, and the wheat field returned to silence. The lights were still shining quietly, and the work of eliminating equipment defects was still proceeding in an orderly manner.

The night lights of Changqingli Cultural Tourism Block in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province are officially lit up

The lighting of Changqingli undoubtedly adds a new touch to this picture scroll. With the full presentation of the street scene of Changqingli Cultural Tourism Block, the lights of the block have also been officially lit up.

As night falls, Changqingli is decorated with lights, colorful and unique, and it “groups” with Oriental Cloud Lake and Cultural Activity Center to become the most beautiful night view of oriental new city.

“Since the Changqingli lighting project was launched in September last year, a total of various lighting facilities such as LED photoelectric glass, wall washers, floodlights, water pattern lights, landscape lights, and underground lights have been installed.” Xu Zhengyu, the person in charge of the block lighting project, introduced.

“Focusing on the three goals of Dragon IP space identification, high-quality commercial blocks and smart + ecological parks, Changqingli aims to create a poetic and rhythmic light and shadow painting, and create a comfortable business environment through modern lighting technology and innovative design concepts.”

Looking down from the air, Changqingli seems to be wearing “new clothes”. Under the outline of the wall-washing lamps, the overall lighting of the block is uniform and soft, “seeing the light but not the lamp”.

The architectural shape is more prominent. Under the “dressing” of the lights, the block is simple and prosperous without losing the fashionable technology, like a visual feast!

Since September this year, Suzhou-Chuzhou Municipal Utilities Company has upgraded and renovated the public lighting facilities on the main and secondary roads of the park for energy saving and intelligent management and control, with a total investment of about 11 million yuan. Mainly installed about 7,000 sets of single lamp controllers and 102 sets of centralized managers, replaced about 2,400 dimming drive power supplies, and replaced more than 3,500 old high-pressure sodium lamps in the park with new LED lamps with high light efficiency and low color temperature.

At the same time, a digital management system for smart street lights has been built. Through the system, you can directly view the type, quantity, location, operating status, lighting rate and other information of street lights, and the park street lights can achieve “one picture, visualization” management and control. The system has a remote control function. Managers can check the operation of street lights anytime and anywhere through mobile phones or computers, and adjust the disposal according to the actual situation, which greatly improves work efficiency and management level. The system can not only monitor the working status of each street light in real time, but also automatically adjust the brightness according to the changes in ambient light, ensuring that it meets the nighttime lighting needs while avoiding excessive consumption of electricity.

Lanzhou University researchers develop highly efficient phosphor for high-power laser-driven lighting

Lanzhou University Wang Deyin@Wang Yuhua LPR replaced the Al3+-Al3+ pairs in BaLu2Al4SiO12: Ce3+ with Mg2+-Si4+ pairs to prepare a new blue-light-excitable yellow-emitting phosphor BaLu2(Mg0.6Al2.8Si1.6)O12: Ce3+, with an external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 66.2%. While Ce3+ emission red-shifted, this substitution also broadened Ce3+ emission and reduced its thermal stability. The change in the spectrum is due to the change in the local crystal field of Ce3+ and the change in positional symmetry caused by the Mg2+-Si4+ substitution.

Lanzhou University researchers develop highly efficient phosphor for high-power laser-driven lighting

In order to evaluate the feasibility of the newly developed yellow-emitting phosphor for high-power laser lighting, it was constructed as a phosphor wheel. Under the irradiation of a blue laser with a power density of 90.7 W mm2, the luminous flux of the yellow phosphor was 3894 lm, and there was no obvious emission saturation phenomenon. The yellow phosphor wheel was excited by blue laser diodes (LDs) with a power density of 25.2 W mm?2, generating bright white light with a luminance of 1718.1 lm, a correlated color temperature of 5983 K, a color rendering index of 65.0, and color coordinates of (0.3203, 0.3631).

These results indicate that the newly synthesized yellow-emitting phosphor has significant potential for high-power laser-driven lighting applications.

The night scene lighting along the Yan’an Road Elevated Road in Shanghai has been upgraded again

As a backbone traffic artery that runs east-west across the central urban area of Shanghai, the Yan’an Road Elevated Road is an extremely important part of Shanghai’s urban night scene. Since 2022, after three years of construction, the night scene along the Yan’an Road Elevated Road has a certain scale and influence. The third phase of the Yan’an Road Elevated Road project creates a warm, elegant, prosperous and fashionable night city light environment through new construction, renovation, upgrading and retention, further enhancing the night scene image of the main axis of Jing’an District “Excellent Huaguang, Brilliant Jing’an”.

The night scene lighting along the Yan'an Road Elevated Road in Shanghai has been upgraded again

Large-scale group design, star-studded night scene lighting

After multiple on-site surveys and analyses, the area around the Huashan Road ramp, the Yan’an Road Elevated Road and the ground municipal roads are all areas with relatively serious traffic congestion. At the same time, the Huashan Road overpass has a relatively wide field of vision, and the line of sight basically overlaps with the elevated driving line of sight. Therefore, the buildings around the skybridge are used as carriers, and the large-scale group design is carried out. The highlights are highlighted by combining the characteristic elements of the buildings in some parts, and the overall coordination of the surrounding lighting is rationally planned to create a representative model of Shanghai’s urban night scene.

Iconic and exquisite design, outstanding and dazzling night scene lighting

Jiadi Center and Wenxin News Building are two buildings with upright shapes and distinct architectural features, occupying important positions in their respective areas. Lighting focuses on fine depiction according to its own functional attributes and architectural element characteristics to create an iconic night scene in a small area. Jiadi Center is located at No. 968, Beijing West Road, a prime location in Jing’an District. It is a unique high-rise fashion landmark. Its architectural design style is modern and full of elegant temperament, standing out among the high-rise buildings. Whether driving on the Yan’an Road Elevated Road or the North-South Elevated Road, or along the Suzhou River, you can see it. The night scene lighting focuses on the shape of the “crown” on the top of the building, making it more dazzling.

The Wenxin News Building is 170 meters high and is close to the Yan’an Road Elevated Road. When driving on the Yan’an elevated road, whether traveling from east to west or from west to east, the Wenxin Newspaper Building occupies the center of vision for a long time. The lighting uses linear lighting techniques to highlight the main body of the building, emphasizing its uprightness and creating a small-scale iconic night view building.
