Classroom Lighting Renovation Project Launched for Primary and Secondary Schools in Xingtai, Hebei

To effectively improve the visual environment and physical health of primary and secondary students, Xingtai has rolled out a renovation program for classroom lighting and sports venues this year. The project covers eye-friendly lighting upgrades for 5,061 classrooms, all of which will be completed by mid-August to be ready for the autumn semester.

Focused on creating a comfortable and healthy visual environment, the renovated classroom lighting features a color temperature ranging from 3300K to 5300K. The soft light close to natural light can accurately reproduce the true colors of textbooks and objects. Equipped with professional anti-glare design, the lights prevent direct light exposure to students’ eyes and help relieve visual fatigue from prolonged reading and studying.

To ensure efficient project progress, Xingtai Municipal Bureau of Education has set up a special task force, while education authorities of all counties, county-level cities and districts have established matching working systems with clear division of responsibilities and timelines. The project will be implemented in four standardized phases: plan formulation, pre-construction preparation, construction execution and inspection & acceptance. Up to now, renovation work on 3,109 classrooms across the city has been finished and another 519 classrooms are under construction, marking an overall completion rate of 61.43%.
