Landscape Lighting of Jiaxiu Tower in Guiyang Completes Upgrade and Renovation

To further enhance tourists’ night sightseeing experience during Guiyang’s summer resort season, the Guiyang Municipal Engineering Service Center recently carried out an upgrade of the landscape lighting around West Lake Road adjacent to Jiaxiu Tower. Adhering to the principles of safety, economy and aesthetics, the renovation made full use of stock recycled materials to upgrade the nighttime scenery of Jiaxiu Tower and effectively fix deficiencies in the local nightscape.

Targeted Remediation of Nightscape Deficiencies at Core Viewing Spots

As Guiyang’s urban landmark and cultural tourism calling card, Jiaxiu Tower draws an endless stream of visitors after dark, most of whom come specially to admire the ancient tower’s silhouette and light reflections on the Nanming River. Previously, however, the night view on the West Lake Road side of Jiaxiu Tower looked relatively plain, creating a stark contrast with the brightly lit ancient architecture on the opposite bank and weakening the overall immersive experience.

Golden-yellow light fixtures were newly installed on the guardrails of West Lake Road to fix this visual disconnect. The landscape enhancement was completed with low costs and high efficiency, allowing visitors on both Jiaxiu Tower and riverside walkways to enjoy a continuous, complete nighttime scenic scroll.

Prioritizing Material Reuse and Safety to Implement Economical Maintenance

Upholding the philosophy of material recycling, energy conservation and safety first, the Municipal Service Center reused 24V low-voltage safe light fixtures recovered from decorative lighting of other buildings to complete the landscape lighting renovation for West Lake Road guardrails beside Jiaxiu Tower. The full utilization of recycled materials greatly cut fiscal expenditure.

The light fixtures are mounted on the outer side of guardrails with a 24V low-voltage power supply system. The setup is sturdy, reliable and easy to maintain, while largely eliminating electric shock hazards and delivering better landscape effects.

Harmonious Golden-Yellow Light Improves Quality of Cultural Night Tourism

The newly installed guardrail lights feature a precisely controlled color temperature of 3200K golden yellow, which blends naturally with the existing warm yellow lighting tone of Jiaxiu Tower. Non-dazzling and understated, the lights form soft gentle luminous belts along the riverbank.

Strolling along West Lake Road at night, visitors can see golden lights stretching along the guardrails and reflecting in the Nanming River. The lights set off the upturned eaves of the ancient tower and shimmering bridge shadows, shaping an elegant artistic conception of integrated towers, lights and river scenery.

This project strongly supports nighttime cultural tourism consumption during the summer resort season, extends tourists’ staying time and boosts vitality of surrounding commercial districts.
