Nanhai Road LED Streetlights in Haimen District, Nantong, Jiangsu Province, Undergo Complete Renovation

As a major east-west thoroughfare in Haimen District, Nanhai Road's original streetlights had been in service for over 12 years, exhibiting problems such as diminished illuminance and high energy consumption. To address this, the Urban Lighting Management Office of the District Housing and Construction Bureau implemented a complete renovation project for the old streetlights on Nanhai Road. Through synergistic optimization of luminous efficacy, power, and color temperature, a high-quality urban nighttime lighting environment was systematically constructed.

To improve lighting efficiency, the Urban Lighting Management Office selected lighting fixtures with "safety, energy saving, and comfort" as the core objectives. In terms of safety, the new streetlights offer approximately 80% higher overall luminous efficacy than the old models, achieving "more light per kilowatt-hour," significantly improving road illumination and providing a solid guarantee for nighttime traffic safety. Regarding energy conservation, the new lights reduce power consumption by 16.7% compared to the old models, achieving lower energy consumption while increasing brightness, effectively practicing the green and low-carbon concept. In terms of comfort, the color temperature of the new lights has been lowered from the original 4000K cool white to 3000K warm yellow, not only optimizing technical parameters but also re-harmonizing the overall tone of urban nighttime lighting, creating a warm and comfortable lighting atmosphere for public spaces.

This streetlight upgrade not only effectively improved the quality of road lighting and ensured the safety of citizens traveling at night but also improved the living environment and enhanced people's well-being. In the next phase, the Haimen District Housing and Construction Bureau will further optimize the lighting effects of key roads and back streets and alleys, continuously creating a livable, safe, and intelligent urban lighting environment.
