Nearly 40,000 LED street lights will illuminate Wenzhou City

Recently, Huancheng Road, Wenzhou District is undergoing street lamp renovation and upgrading. Tall LED light sources will replace traditional high-pressure sodium lamps and become the lighting source for citizens traveling at night.

The Municipal Administration Office began to try to install the proposed LED light source. After passing the test and inspection to meet the requirements, starting in August last year, some urban city pipeline lights have been replaced with LED light sources.

It is understood that this urban street light source transformation is due to the advantages of high utilization of LED light sources, long service life, good color rendering of light illumination, more energy saving and environmental protection. The traditional high-pressure sodium lamp is a light source that emits light in a full space. In fact, there is less light in the direction of the road. Because the light emitting surface of the LED lamp emits light in a single direction, the loss of light flux is small and the light source utilization rate is high. In terms of energy saving and environmental protection, traditional high-voltage light sources contain metallic mercury and metallic sodium (which turns into mercury vapor and sodium vapor after being energized), and subsequent waste treatment has a great impact on the environment; LED is a solid light source, which does not add any gas, and the street lamps do not contain harmful substances. Metal mercury is relatively safer and environmentally friendly, and waste has less environmental pollution. In addition, in terms of color rendering performance, the high-temperature sodium lamp has a low color rendering index and poor color rendering, and the poor reducibility of the color of the object itself is not conducive to judging the depth of the surrounding environment. The LED light source has a high color rendering index, good color rendering, and can be very good. Ground to restore the actual color of the object, closer to the natural light color. Another point is that the service life of traditional high-pressure sodium lamps is 1 to 3 years, while the average service life of LED lamps is more than 5 years.

At present, Wenzhou City has completed the replacement of more than 30,000 street light sources. It is estimated that nearly 40,000 LED street lights will be installed in the first half of this year.
