New Street Lights Installed on Two Roads in Dongping County, Tai'an, Shandong

To further improve urban infrastructure and enhance the safety of nighttime travel for citizens, the Dongping County Public Utility Development Center in Tai'an City, Shandong Province, recently carried out an upgrade of the road lighting system as part of the comprehensive improvement project for Huihe Street (between Chongli Road and Xuchang Road). Through scientific planning and optimized facility configuration, the road section has achieved improvements in both street light coverage and lighting quality.

The lighting upgrade made full use of the construction window during drainage pipeline and sidewalk works, adopting a multi-project collaborative approach to avoid resource waste caused by repeated excavation. A total of 32 street light poles were replaced, and 0.9 kilometers of cables were laid. In accordance with the Urban Road Lighting Design Standards and based on the actual lighting needs of the road section, the original average spacing of 48 meters between lights was optimized to 37 meters. This increased density of light points eliminates dark areas, raising the average road surface illuminance by 30%. Furthermore, the original 8-meter-high light poles were uniformly increased to 10 meters, effectively reducing obstruction from roadside trees.

In its next steps, the Dongping County Public Utility Development Center will continue to focus on addressing pressing livelihood concerns faced by the public. It will comprehensively resolve "key small matters" close to people's daily lives, such as potholes, waterlogging, noisy manhole covers, and malfunctioning street lights. By applying meticulous efforts akin to "embroidery work," the center aims to drive the iterative upgrade of urban functions, imbue public services with a greater "sense of care for people's livelihoods," and continuously enhance the city's livability and the residents' sense of happiness.
