Osram 2016 revenues 3.78 billion euros

2016 OSRAM revenue growth is nearly 6%, the trend is relatively stable. Adjusted EBITA profit rose 12.5%, a dividend of € 1 per share, the OSRAM Board of Directors is expected to 2017 along this growth curve continues to develop.

Dr. Olaf Berlien, CEO of OSRAM, said the fiscal year of OSRAM 2016 was extremely successful. In the year of Osram's largest restructuring in history, it created another record, reaching the expected level. During the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, OSRAM benefited from continued strong demand, particularly for high-end optoelectronic semiconductors. On a comparison basis, earnings from continuing operations, excluding portfolio and currency effects, increased by approximately 6% to € 3.78 billion from the same period last year. All of the reported projects contributed to this increase. Nominally, earnings increased 6%. EBITA for continuing operations grew by approximately 10 per cent to € 471 million, resulting in a profit of 12.5 per cent, adjusted for special items. From the sale of Foshan Lighting shares of the book revenue results, the net income from continuing operations more than doubled to 532 million euros. At the annual shareholders' meeting, the dividend per share was raised to 1 euro.

    In the future, OSRAM will use earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization as the primary valuation method to reflect its operating profit as a technology company in the new positioning. 2017 Fiscal year, Osram expects revenue growth of 5 to 7 percentage points, adjusted EBITDA profit margin of at least 16%.
